They are no different than any of the guys on here that had a first week build. They probably bought their way to the top of the order pile at their respective dealers so that their car was the first one in as soon as GM opened up a build week to the dealer.

Pretty sure (I got a PM about it a while back) that several NASCAR drivers got the same VIN that they drive. And we have it on good authority that at least the first 10 were all predetermined. We also know that scott@bjorn3d had his car pushed up (and rightfully so).

There's something I'm missing here... it just doesn't add up. Either GM routinely breaks the law and gets away with it or they could easily push the rest of the preorders to the front of the line.

Yeah, I'm not a lawyer and I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I have no clue if GM is breaking the laws or not with respect to the early VIN assignments and pushing Scott's car to the front of the line.

I think the part of the statement that is key is that only a few vehicles moved to the head of the line. Some of the laws say that you need to provide a reasonable number of vehicles in a reasonable amount of time. If GM sells 10,000 vehicles for celebrities out of one dealership before any other dealership then that would not be reasonable. There is always a little wiggle room in the laws.

Here's a good one... seems to have a lot of info on allocations and that they should be fair, reasonable & equitable... I think that is what we are looking for... a fair system.

I'll take a look at it later. Thanks. We all agree that the ALLOCATION should be fair and it was - the 20,000 cars were fairly handed out. I am trying to zoom in on what happens when those allocations are sold vs. un-sold.

A Gm Rep from Oshawa told me the dealer can bring the car in in the order that he chooses to
