I've spent a good amount of time in college courses. I'd choose a brick 'n mortar course over an online course any day.

Online sure has the convenience factor, but can be (at least in my experience) more pricey and more prone to distractions.

There's just something about putting my a@% in class that gets me into the right mental zone for focusing upon the task at hand.

If I did my classes at home in my jammies, I'd be likely to check C5, check the news, go back and read my lesson, check stocks, see what Lindsey Lohan did today, go back to my lesson, read about some LS3 engine mod, make sure my lesson hadn't timed out, get a snack, check my e-mail, gone back to my lesson, oooh look a pretty light, organize a spice rack, go back to the lesson...

(You get the picture.)

You have to be disciplined. Here's how I do it. First, I always log on to see if there are any questions. Then I can cruise another website for five or ten minutes. Then, when I have to grade papers, I do them in sets of 5. I give myself a goal, "When I get five papers done, then I will walk around the block." Then I set a new goal, "When I get the next five done, I will wash the car..." And so on. You have to be able to set a schedule for yourself. I am very goal-oriented, so this works perfect for me. I don't work in my jammies, though. I get up and take a shower just like I would when I get up Monday through Friday to go to work.
