Not denial.
Its true. My ZL1 is open to any and all 2013 GT500 factory stock base models that want to have a go at it. We'll see in short order that ZL1 is KING in an apples to apples comparison. My 67 Camaro is lighter and has more power than my ZL1 will, but I doubt it could keep up to the ZL1 either. Just accept the obvious and realize the ZL1 is the leader of the pony car pack.

Since you say you have a '67 then you must know the history of COPO/ZL1 as a drag strip car not a roadcourse car....wonder why no one is predicting a straight line race win for the ZL1 vs the GT500 anymore?

You could really just go out and buy one to prove a point? Are you hiring?

I can buy one at MSRP, then turn around and sell it to one of my buddies at a mark up.

The bias in this thread cracks me up. on both sides.
my car is 57k for 13k I could be forged with a whipple or KB. Quote:
WOW. The new gt500 is priced right and will be a fast car. the only negative on this car is just if you don't like mustangs. one of the ride along people said the suspention was harsh which is proabaly true but who buys a mustang for cadilac ride. Quote:
as much time as teh last GT500 gave up without the track pack it is about 99% that it will struggle in this area as delivered. It definatly will not be able to be continually lapped. there are ZL-1 dealers marking up there are others selling at msrp.

I have always been a Chevy fan, but honestly, i wouldn't mind owning a GT500... I'm still not paying $1,100/month for any car and I certainly wouldn't drop a large sum down just to get a reasonable monthly payment...

So you are admitting the Ford is a 1/4 car only and the ZL1 will be the track champ?

The cars are going to be priced similarly as I figured they would.
The way I would option the car it would come out to $58,490 which is a reasonable price. And just a little more than the ZL1. Both cars will offer advantages. For the ZL1 the suspension is more advanced. For the GT500 the engine is more advanced and better built(ie forged internals). It will come down to personal preference for the majority of the people. |
