At least you were ready to do something. Made a motion to stand up for yourself. Nothing wrong with seeing you can't win this battle cuz the guy has a shot gun.

You didn't just sit there and wonder or guess and say maybe he has a gun.
You actually saw the gun, so that's a whole different story.

I bet you don't feel bad about yourself when u look back at what happened.
And when you tell that story, no one is questioning your manhood.

But if you just sat there, and never opened your door. Never saw the shotty, and he just drove off after spitting on you. You would think differently about yourself today.

Being smart and being a coward are two different things.

You were being smart.

Yea sure spit wipes off. Blood does too. Scars heal.
Try washing off the feeling of shame.
You gonna need a lot more than soap and water.

Truth is, no one knows what they would do if it happened to them.

I'd like to think I would just follow, grab my phone and get video of the license plate and call the law.

Depending on the size of the town, the cops could be blocks away, or miles away.

Not worth a high speed chase, or a confrontation. People shoot other people these days over road rage and even lesser reasons.

This loser probably wanted a reason to shoot somebody.

His life sucks and he knows he will never be sitting in an awesome Camaro at a stop light.

If that statement sounds snobbish, it is what it is.

Sometimes there is more to "manhood" than making a bad situation even worse...
With a certain level of maturity, it is possible on short notice to think through the risk versus gain aspects of a spur of the moment incident, without the rediculous notion of feeling ashamed about it for the rest of your life.

Very true.

It's a case by case basis.

It's just annoying to keep seeing these threads pop up, daily it seems where the general consensus is hey don't do anyhing. Just be a victim, it's safer.

In another thread some guys neighbor is keying his car, multiple times, and the best advice is take a picture. Lol.

Like people act like they have never been in a fight before in their life.

Doesn't that suck... You're rocking out to Third Day and some jerk does something jacked up. You want to do the right thing, but you're torn to confront which could turn into a bad situation. Christianity and the love of Jesus has benefits that greatly outweigh any impending shame or humiliation of "letting it go". Now if the dude was threatening your life or family... Way different situation, go get 'em!

Absolutely, I agree. We for sure have a right to protect ourselves and our property, "when appropriate"...but sadly in our letigous society, if you don't at least file a police report or have some sort of evidence, you gotta really be careful...Certainly its possible to confront an individual while something is in progress...but afterwards...who knows!...lol

I owned a 2005 Black Hyundai Sonata, was driving home from droping off my sons girlfriend about three years ago. Two lane road around 9 pm a car full of teenagers throws a milkshake at my car. I did nothing no speeding, just driving home at normal speed. Well I had just gotten the driverside repainted about five days before this. The shake container actually scraped a little paint off. I was so mad, like the op I didnt do anything thinking the same situation. I am a former Marine I do not have a concealed weapons licences. Though this story and my own run in makes me think again about the option. I know what it means to carry a weapon and the responsibility I have. Though in these times I am thinking I may need it, if not for me maybe someone else. The world is a different place unfortunately.

Being tough and acting tough are different things as I see after reading some of these posts. I can't believe how many people actually carry a gun on them while driving around or at least claim to but this is the interweb so its hard to believe everyone is what they claim. It took a man to walk away like he did, maybe not exactly what I would have done but it is what it is.
