Hey Hylton, Sit down -- take a deep breath. I know you are VERY ANXIOUS. I am too.

This is NOT meant as an ATTACK on anyone

But consider:
- Production started March 16, not Oct. 13
- Sold orders always depend on the dealer's "allocation" (not a "free-for-all")
- Franchise laws set some distribution policies (re: getting A CAR to EVERY dealer)
- AVIS probably ordered their Camaros in June (e.g. "I'll take 10,000 Impalas if you let me get 50 early Camaros")
- And regarding the "boneheaded decisions", it's all about managing conflicting choices. It's usually impossible to satisfy ALL of them, so the guys in the big chairs have to make a decision.
- I'm sure there are a lot of good people at GM busting their a$$ to get us a trouble-free car ASAP.
- And lastly, it's got to be a little tough, trying to do your best job when the world is writing your company's obituary on the front page EVERY DAY, and your leaders are trying to keep the place open while being forced to cut off a LOT of limbs.
- I'm glad I don't have to try to do it -- I just count the days until my 2SS arrives.

I need to ask one question of you if you don't mind, do you currently have a Camaro on order from GM?

Thanks,

Come on people! In 2002 this car was gone now its back better then ever. So can all the complaining please stop? Who is with me?
I'm with you. I don't even want to spend much time on here anymore. We have had more info then ever before about this car. By the way I ordered 10/15/08, my car was built 3/20/09 at 8:30am and I'm waiting also. Other cars are on the market and you can buy one now and drive it home today but you get what you pay for. Based on the reviews it shows. The Camaro is worth the wait.

Hylton,

Yeah, I ordered mine first week in Feb. I was the SECOND SS ordered from this dealer. Not the 12th in line on Oct. 13 at some dealer, like some guys.

I DID read your previous posts --- way too much bellyaching and drama. Nobody ever said people needed to think before engaging their fingers. If I were running Production Control, I'd move some people to the end of the line! (bitching penalty) (just kiddin, really)

I would think most early orders would be built in May. If you know anything about Prod. Control, you know that the line balancing requires colors, engines, sunroofs, and certain other "options" to be sequenced in patterns that can be built.

Maybe you can think of it like EACH DEALER having a loaded pez dispenser and GM going around taking the first one or two (based on allocation) from a dealer and moving on to the next one. If your dealer sold a whole bunch, he's got a HUGE line in his dispenser (even greater than his big allocation) and some other dealer has two in the dispenser with more allocations than sold yet. Like getting in the right line at the toll both to Ca. --- some guy in front dropped his only quarter!

Good luck, I hope we both get our car soon.

That is hard! It's as if you think people should just be quiet and and come to the front when your name is called. Sounds pretty commy to me. If you have read my previous comments then you know what I think about business treating customers like a number. You are also well aware of the value in learning from the customer is to a business. But I guess the customer doesn't know squat about the car business right? He doesn't have to - he only has to know the difference between good and bad service.

Sure and 14,000 or so pre-orders are not enough to go through that triage?

Are you talking about the allocation process or are you really talking about the build order process? You seem to be confusing the two.

I am very glad to hear from a Camaro customer who believes everyone should just be quiet and wait. I hold your opinion on the matter much higher than the Camaro/GM fans (non-customers) weighing in on the subject so Thank-you!

Goldbowtie, it would be interesting to see who is doing the bellyaching if you don't see yours until mid September or early October which could be the case if R6P are not given any priority.

I am a GM employee and I'm also a pre-order customer and while I also am wanting my car and I also would like to know what the hold up is, in my opinion I understand that excrement occurs and that venting my frustration on here is pointless but... misery loves company I guess so if it makes some happy to vent then have at it but it sure doesn't help make the situation better and truly only adds negativity to the world.

i think for some people it's therapy maybe makes you feel a bit better, it sucks to come to a forum with real concerns and be told to "shut up" for lack of a better word.. i dont like the commee approach "deal with it" it's a big purchase you bought the right to complain.

as long as your not cursing out of your mind i dont see an issue with venting on here... people need to stop defending a chunk of metal like it's their little brothers, this is a car it's a purchased item and very expensive one (for most people) the right to be concerned is eared (hey that rhymed )

WHO says R6P's are not getting priority??? Do you think these orders are being built? Takes time to build 14000 plus a few others at 250-300/day.

I'll let you know when I get mine (TPW = 5/4/09)

No pre-order folks mind waiting if all the cars being built in a given day were for R6P cars. I'd wait a year if we can get that commitment. It's that some people who order today, will get their cars before those who ordered prior to March 16th. We feel this is poor business. Let me ask you this, would you mind if a bunch of folks go and order their car today and they receive their car before your is even built?
