Since you're in the area here's a pretty good spot for some photos.. There are usually a lot of folks with the kite surfers for color and action. I goofed and could have gotten many better pictures. I only had my camera a week and forgot all I learned decades ago. The first pic wasn't taken by me.

Wow, with minimal equipment and "minimal knowledge" as you make it sound these images are fantastic. Let me give you a hint, skip the class, save the money, and pick up a few books. I have never once stepped foot inside a classroom for photography. Trial and error, and self teaching is the best way to go in my mind. You may pick up the basics in a class, but real world application will throw a whole new mess at you! Keep at it!!

You guys are making me want to get a better digital camera. I have a great old fashioned Nikon 35mm, but who wants to get film developed nowadays. You just never know about the shot with rolls of film until after they are developed.

Thanks Doc. As I was dialing in for the correct exposure. In one of the frames you could make out what looks like the ripple current from the alternator in the tail lights! For a sec I thought it was my camera playing tricks but I confirmed it by varying the shutter speed!

This is true. However, those with roots in film know their stuff. They are rooted in the mechanics of it all. You have to know what the camera is doing in order to get your results. Can't snap one off and go "well that didn't work, let me try this!". I prefer that instead of these trigger happy folks these days. Just "click, click, click, click" and hope something turns out! Nothing like reviewing 300 from 15 mins of shooting! ROFL

I didn't get much today, found a nifty little park in the Orlando area. I will put the stuff up from that later. Tomorrow I am scheduled with a couple of local car clubs to do some shooting for them while I am in the area. I should see if the local camaro folks want to come out and play too!
