How am I off my rocker??? We all know that the Mustangs ONLY current advantage to the Camaro is it weighs less. Take their only advantage away and what do we have left??? Oh yeah the next excuse will be looks are subjective lol. Try telling that to the people month over month that choose the Camaro over the Mustang.

My prediction for the next gen and I would say this is about a 90% chance of happening given what we already know. Mustang comes out 2014 as a 2015 Model year with new 6th Gen for the Mustangs Anniversary- car is a little lighter with a great new design that gives it a good and better sales year. power will be upped on the GT & it will have independent Rear suspension.

Then following year the 6th Gen Camaro comes out in 2015 as a 2016 model year with less or around the same weight as the new previous year 6th gen Mustang with an improved design that rivals the new Mustangs or at least equals it. The new Camaro is released with more horse power than the new Mustang which will be just as happened this gen and a new Z28 version will be launched from the get go to get more sales and interest.

1. The GT500 SVTTP pulls around the same as the ZL1 on the Skidpad (1.00G) and handles amazing for the fact that it has a SRA, my sister drives one so I'm quite aware of it's track capabilities, also despite what you may think it's a hell of a lot more comfortable than my SS is on bumpy roads....

2. Looks ARE subjective, you might love the front of the V6 Camaro while there are others would disagree with you, I love the way the GT500 looks, you obviously don't and hence looks are subjective. The Mustang is unattractive to you as obese women are unattractive to me, does it me they are ugly? Not at all.

I love the Camaro SS and ZL1 but I'm not blind to the fact that the Mustang is better than it in a lot of aspects. Couldn't I sell my Camaro SS for a Mustang and it has nothing to do with looks and everything to do with the emotional bond I have with my car that I have gained from having it for the last two years.

Also as Motorhead said "the Camaro is the latest fad" and it's true. GM got great marketing from those god aweful Transformers movies and now the Camaro appeals to a bunch of the non-car people. If I had a $1 for every time the kids two doors down have called my car bumblebee, I would be able to install a CAI, Headers and a Cat-back, also as stated above the Mustang is a half a decade design and Ford never stopped making them, they made the good ones, ugly (subjective) ones and bad ones but they never stopped making them...

I'm not saying that all Mustangs are ugly. I happen to like the front end on the GT500 Mustangs some and it was a very very wise move on Fords part to make the GT500 grill standard on all Mustangs for 2013 along with changing the horrible tail lights from the past couple years. They are on the right path now its up to their design team as to the fate of the car.

Like people have stated in other threads, FORD is in an excellent position overall. The mustang is still selling and will continue to sell.

I am not brand loyal to either. I've had my fair share of FORDS and GM's.

Regardless, looks are subjective and performance is just a small part of their overall sales. We as performance enthusiasts are only a small percentage compared to the grand scheme of things.

Your prediction is just that. Also, all of the things you state are based on rumors. How are you bringing anything new to the table with this prediction?

To some of us, trying to re-design the Bat-Mobile isn't a design priority. Erik

I believe the one thing that GM did that makes the Camaro a much better (Fifth Generation) is that they have taken the basic looks of the past First and incorporated it into a totally new platform. Stopping production was a hard thing to hear several years back but was the best thing to happen to the Camaro. Ford is a solid company but has for the past few generations just keeps trying to "Evolve" what they have. Some times it's best to grab a whole new sheet of paper and start fresh on the drawing board.

Folks - you only speak one language. Understand the difference between "there", "their" and "they're". I know it's confusing sometimes, heck English is the most inconsistent language on the planet, but just say "they are smart" and think "oh.. the contraction of 'they are' is 'they're' - I got it!".

"There" is ONLY used for a place. So if you're tempted to say "there car" - it won't make sense!! As for "their" it's for ownership, therefore "their car" is correct. *takes a deep breath*

what will be your take if the next Camaro is considered by the masses as uglier than the next Mustang? Just a thought.

The next Camaro could be a pile of crap, and I quite literally mean a pile of crap, on wheels and most of the people on this site would still think it looks better than the Mustang. The same goes for if the Mustang was. Both side have fanboys on them, let's not forget that.

These threads are funny! Ive never been a "Chevy guy" or a "Ford guy", I'm a "I'll buy whatever the hell I want" guy. Not pointing fingers to anyone in this thread, but there are actually grown men on this planet who will convince themselves they dont like something, just because Brand A makes it and Brand B doesnt. Love my Camaro - and I might add a 2013 Mustang to the stable too. Truthfully the numbers game puzzles me too - Ive never bought a car cause I thought I'd be able to beat the other guy to the next stoplight. Do people really care about this crap? Apparently they do I guess.
