Yeah 100k for that is ridiculous. I wonder if SLP has even sold any?? I remember when SLP use to make those after models but not for a stupid price, like the Firehawk which was like a 4k option. Didn't SLP use to produce the SS for GM, like they got the cars in and swapped them into SS correct? I remember they use to have alot take off parts when I was into 4th gen camaros. I turned my old 2001 camaro into the RS package version they had with parts from them. They seem to have turned into more of an aftermarket company now without any direct ties, you think GM would have squashed their ZL1 idea or at least make then change the name. C'mon 110k you can buy 2 2012 ZL1 Camaro's lol.

I met the guy who owns SLP at Barrett Jackson earlier this year, He didn't really come off on the friendly side to be honest

I can't believe you just wrote that after so many of us made fun of people who felt that way in this thread.

And we made fun of people like you because anyone who has an opinion that is critical of something related to Camaro is considered a "Ford fanboy" regardless of the merit of the argument, which really shows that it is the Camaro fan that is the narrow-minded fanboy.

Please read the rest of the thread before you embarrass yourself some more. Be sure to see the video of the Corvette that Matt owns that was specially made by Ford.

You should re-read what he wrote. He's right to point out the facts that Smoking Tire got wrong (especially since they then used the wrong performance numbers to compare it to other cars, bang-for-the-buck-wise), and what he wrote doesn't strike me as fanboy-ish.

Me, I wouldn't spend $110k for the SLP version, and thanks to Chevy I don't have to.

I do not have a problem with anyone voicing an honest opinion about what they like or don't like, but when you bash something or someone just because you can so as to make yourself seem smarter or to belittle someone or in this case something so as to imply that only your opinion makes sense is wrong. We can have a discussion about anything anytime but don't pass off your bias as fact when its' just your opinion and when you do a test just give me the facts so I can make my own decision. I believe everyone has a right to his or her own opinion and freedom of speech, just as I did when I took an oath to defend our country and our way of life a long time ago.

If Motor Week can get good test times with the car they should be able too also. Do not try and marginalize the SLP's performance just to make your argument seem more plausible for why it's not worth the asking price in your opinion. Like the old saying goes, "Do not try and piss on my head and tell me it's raining". I have listen to this Matt guy on numerous occasions and he just seem's so smug and full of it especially when it involves a Chevy or GM product.

I love everything GM but it does not get in the way of me giving credit when credit is deserved to any car regardless of manufacturer, even ford. I can still chastise GM when they do something boneheaded because I can be objective regardless of my loyalty to the brand, nothing is perfect to everyone all the time.

It's all right to be a fanboy but you should be an honest fanboy. I support the Detroit Big 3 but I'm a GM man thru and thru. I'm a car enthusiast who just happens to bleed chevy blue from one arm and scarlet and gold from the other.

Semper Fi.

Matt Farah is kind of a douche but I have to agree with him on this one.

For that same price you can buy

- a ZR1 which will beat the piss out of it
- 2 "official" ZL1s which will also probably beat it
- 1 "official" ZL1, a ton of mods to ensure it beats the piss out of it, and a daily driver SS.
- A used Lamborghini Gallardo, even a Superleggera which will also beat the piss out of it (and its a Lamborghini, bitch).

I could understand if it was something truly special like the original ZL1 was (but its not), I could also understand if it was going to appreciate in value (it absolutely won't).

Overall, I agree, and glad GM is taking the reins on this project for next year.

Anyone that pays 100K for a Camaro is an idiot. Period.
