Tuesday and Wednesday supposed to be cold here, but then back into the 50's at the end of the week and still no snow, lol

That's the point. It's actually pretty noticeable when it gets super cold (around 0F). Two winters in and I've got a little sample group that pretty much confirmed what I thought from last season.

Just need to look into getting a better system to funnel air into the intake (be it a Volant setup or SLP).

That is if I don't wind up buying another 4th gen rescue that needs a less intensive restore than what I need to do on my bird.. :/

I probably should get a CAI just from sheer fact that its hot and dry here pretty much all year. Seems like there is a significant different between a good CAI and the stock intake. Maybe that's next on the modifications list?

It's one of the things I like about the 4th gen Birds. The LS1 intakes lend really well to ram effect out of the box. Change out the hood to the WS6 or Raptor and you've not only got Ram air, but also ram cooling (not sure how hot broken in LS3 5th gens run but mine runs up to op temp really fast and doesn't like sitting still).

Then you have the LTX style and 5th gen setups that suck air up from under the fascia. Sucks that the front end design of the 5th gen leaves little in the way of accommodating some use of the mail slot area/upper grill for the intake.
