A vehicle with several hundred pounds of batteries and essentially two powertrains will always be substantially more expensive than a conventional vehicle. And until the battery pack can make it to about 15 years and 200K miles without any meaningful degradation or loss or charge capacity, the conventional car will last a lot longer with substantially lower total costs for replacement parts as well.
