Well, fortunately I don't live in Houston (or Chi town for that matter). Here in Beaumont, there's not much in the way of heavy traffic. Occasionally there is an accident that will back things up. I drive 75-85 most of the way to work.

I've driven in Chicago traffic a few times on business. It's not as bad as Houston.

hmmm interesting. Yeah that pole from the article was back in 2010 and Chicago has been building all there highways into 'super highways" I doubt after 2015 any highway will be less then 4 lanes in each direction.

I have nothing to compare it to, drove a manual like 5 or 6 times back in early college like 8 or 9 years ago. This was my first manual car and I figured it out and drive it so well now that when a buddy driving with me realized it was a manual he was pretty impressed with how smooth I was and didn't even know at first.

If you like it and want it, get one its way more fun than any automatic and you'll figure it out, especially if you were ok driving another stick.

I've had it for 11 months now and now its like turning on my turnsignal or something, its just...um...automatic haha

so your manual car is now automatic to you. lol interesting!

I have talked to two dealers one 45th automatic and another 45th with manual and a sunroof. I told them both I am shopping around and for them to give me there bottom dollar price. Whoever gives the better price will have me there Saturday afternoon.

I just cant decide myself. I know i will be happy with either and both have there benefits to me.

I wouldn't worry about it.... I assure you that the salesman has stalled a car before too.... Its a lot better than what I saw at the dealership here the other day, a salesman grinding the hell out of the tranny while trying to back into a spot with a 45th annv. SS

i'll admit, the camaro clutch was a little weird-feeling the first couple times i drove one, but it was easy to get used to.

I hate e-throttles..... Every time I get in one it just feels wrong, end up taking off slower since I'm used to it being instant.... then get in the camaro and smack it and break em loose

I have taught quite a few people to drive a manual. It seems the biggest problem is confidence. Beilieve me most people can drive a standard and it becomes natural. If you can chew gum and walk at the same time you will have no problem. My little sister used to panic when on a hill and someone was close behind so My suggestion is rather than panic and stall or even worse roll back into them is lightly set the e-brake when the clutch starts to engage release it. This helps most people except my little sister she never got the hang of it but then she can't drive for shit anyways.

Even though I have an auto now and believe me with a tranny tune and use of tapshift it is fun, banging gears in a standard is something you will love as well.

well, if somebody pulls up behind you on a hill close enough to get hit on a reasonable roll-back, it's their fault for being too close

Manual is 900 cheaper, you will feel like a star when you get it mastered. Do you want a computer to make you the fastest at the track? Do you sit in hours of traffic? Just have to ask yourself why you want a camaro and what kind of driving you are going to be doing with it. All these people who look with great admiration when they see I bought a manual can not all be full of shit, you know?!

just sidestep the gas/brake.... that's what I usually do, sorta like heel-toe downshifts, give it gas with the right side of your right foot while holding the brake with the left side.
