My point about the V6 Camaro which may seem irrelevant is that since I have used a Windows 7 Phone I will not buy another iPhone due to the fact that I have been over impressed with it. There is nothing short of a Redesign of iOS that could get me to buy another iPhone, just as I could never buy a V6 Camaro might seem irrelevant to you but that was how I compared it. Windows Phone 7 buttery smooth, fast and therefore is a V8, the iPhone is great until you overload it with apps and music and therefore is a V6. I use engine analogies for everything. Essentially the iPhone 4S is like slapping a Cold Air Intake, Headers and a Tune on an existing car instead of releasing a newer 10x better one.

Also I about the $1000 I bought the iPhone the day it came out, most expensive model. Came to roughly $960 after tax and as for the throwing out comparison it was more so a testament to the fact that you can get an iPhone for you said $300 (in Canada on a 3 year contract we can too) or for just a little more you can get a much better phone for just a little bit more that is insured to get full updates, minus the obvious updates for cars.
Thanks for the interesting and well thought out explanation.

Ouch!! No way I'd pay that much for a phone. I'm glad it doesn't cost that in the US because if it did I'd have a prepaid phone.

Yeah, we will also pay $10,000K more for a ZL1 that WE make it's ludicrous here in Canada the Government has more people that suck than a porn set. Well I mean at least I live in the Province with the lowest taxes I have that to be grateful for.

I knew you guys were getting bent over backwards with the price you were having to pay for the Camaro, but didn't realize it was that bad for other things as well. :(

Yeah we get pretty shafted up here. Microsoft just released the Zune Pass Subscription up here after I think 7 years, but yeah there aren't lemon laws either...

If you don't like the iPhone, by all means, move on to something else. As for other phones being smoother in operation? Yeah right. There isn't a phone out there that is as fluid or as intuitive as the iPhone, yet. Even the most rabid Android fanboys admit to that.

My 18 month old HD2 with MIUI is more fluid than iOS. Oh and it runs WP7 at the same time.

Android is basically Windows Mobile 2.0, it's fragmented and quite frankly that is it's major downfall. If Google made set guidelines for specs like Microsoft has for Windows Phone 7 then it would be a lot more fluid.

It's clear that you are hooked on the Kool-Aid that Apple is passing out because the only intuitive thing about the iPhone is how simple it is to use, otherwise it's a very simple very boring User Experience. Microsoft out innovated Apple with Windows Phone 7, they made an award winning User Experience that doesn't require you to spend a bunch of time trying to do things.

For example if the phone screen is off and you want to take a picture:

Windows Phone: Hold down the camera button for a couple seconds and then press again to take photo

iPhone: Double Click the home button, press the camera icon on the bottom left and then hit the volume up or on screen camera button to take a photo.

It may not seem like all that much time because really it's not but there is no denying that two actions takes less time then 4.

GbrilliantQ I think you are confusing Windows Mobile with Windows Phone 7 because I'm almost 99% sure there isn't a Tapatalk Forum app for Windows Phone 7 Series. Plus the HD2 requires some significant hacking to install Windows Phone 7.

Seriously? A phone isn't good because you have to double tap a button to access the camera? Oh the horror!

I'm not drinking any Kool Aid. The iPhone just happens to be a good phone. It's not my fault it's the benchmark every other phone is compared against since it came out 4 and a half years ago.

As far as the limitations, once you jailbreak it, it opens up the phone a lot more. Earlier you said that it must not be good since you have to jailbreak it. All the phones that even come close to the iPhone in specs and performance have to be rooted and modded. No difference.

I know. I had WP7 mango and Jag MIUI running on my HD2 using MAGLDR. =) I hated WP7, never used it so I reverted my phones partitions and went with a NAND only build of MIUI.

One of the other reasons I don't use WP7....no Tapatalk app.

Windows Phone 7 doesn't have to be jailbroken to come close to the performance of the iPhone. The camera comment was a rebuttal to your comment of intuitiveness and WP7 is unfortunately more intuitive than iOS at this point. Microsoft has out Appled Apple. If you like something you pin it to the start menu, you don't have to go searching for apps they are alphabetical, not really a problem if you organize your iPhone apps the same way, I can update my Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn all at once. That is intuitive having to go to 3 separate apps is not. That was my point. iOS is great but unfortunately unless Apple does something big again, like FaceTime was, they are going to lose market share.

My opinion is based on using both OSes for quite sometime. They are based on actual usage not just a Apple is the Best or Google or Microsoft are the best mentality.
