Hopefully iOS 6 will be a little bit more impressive than this update as this is probably the most dull update they have released, also could someone with a 2011 or 2012 Camaro with an iPhone check if it sends the Track Data over bluetooth? It's a feature that is well known as being in iOS 5 but unlike whoever that engineer for the PDIM that used to be on Camaro5 said, the Camaro does not support AVCRP 1.3 and it's pissing me off.

Wanna talk speed? It's just like our Camaros and 1/4-mile speeds. Show me your Linpack scores.

I am a computational scientist who has been using supercomputers for 25 years, and the amazing thing to me is that the iPhone 4s (and similar devices) are achieving Linpack speeds similar to some of the Cray supercomputers of the early 1990's. Quite staggering to think about the miniaturization that has taken place in 20 years, but the fact is that supercomputers are 100,000 times faster today than they were in 1993, http://www.top500.org/lists/2011/06/...ce_development

Lmao! What?! The fact that you never have to connect to iTunes ever again to back up your phone OR to update the software makes this hands down the best update ever to come out for the iPhone, or any apple mobile device.

Not to mention the iMessage, camera update, and notification update, to name a few.

Blackberry messenger, Windows Phones only require holding down the Camera Button (which they all have) to jump to the camera no double clicking the home button then having to touch more things to open, Android Notification Tray and Windows Phone 7/Palm OS Style Banner Notifications. iCloud and Newsstand is the only original thing. My Zune has had wireless syncing forever it's not new.

It's great that Siri is being hacked to work on the iPhone 4 cause otherwise I would chuck this phone.

I don't really care what other phones have. I was just commenting on how "dull" this update has been compared to other iPhone updates.

Multitasking is iOS 4 alone beats this update. I was just saying in the grand scheme of things this update really is dull. It doesn't bring anything overly revolutionary to the table like FaceTime did for example and I was commenting about how almost everything you said is amazing has actually existed on other platforms for months or even years in some cases.

Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree. I hated hooking up my phones to iTunes. I've almost always ran into problem which led me to have to get new phones or losing all my data, like pictures, songs, and even contact info.

And I guess I misinterpreted your comment about this being the most dull update that iPhone had come up with. Didn't know you were comparing other phones. So who cares if there has been other phones that had capabilities that the iPhone just caught up with? You don't expect the iPhone to beat every phone out there when it comes to capabilities, do you?

Are there better phones out there? Sure. Are there phones out there worse than the iPhone? Absolutely. I just don't understand why the iPhone is the most bashed phone out there. It's far from the worst phone out there, and 1+ million orders of the 4S in the first 24hrs can't be bad.

It's probably because the iPhone tends to become crippled each time a newer one comes out. People wouldn't need to jailbreak if the iPhone was perfect. That's at least how I see it.

Chuck it, and go buy one of the other phones you covet since you find so many faults with the iPhone.

Yeah because I'm just going to chuck a $1,000 phone, my god that is a stupid comment, just because I have money doesn't mean I'm automatically going to throw it away I mean I wouldn't do that to a V6 Camaro and a hate them almost as much as the fact that my iPhone that is a year old doesn't get features that a new one that has insignificant changes gets. I'll gladly go buy a Windows Phone when Nokia starts releasing theirs because at least I know that I'll get every feature that is available from the OS regardless of the fact that the phone is 2 years old.

$1,000 phone? What are you talking about? I've never paid more than $300 for any of my iPhones. Seriously though if you aren't happy with it you can sell it online. I've seen a few places that are giving $150 for the iPhone 4. By the way, thanks for the stupid comment. Your comparison of throwing a 20+ thousand dollar Camaro away to throwing away a phone is ridiculous and laughable.

lol @ using a v6 camaro in your argument. That's about as irrelevant and stupid as it gets.

Let me ask you, what made you get the iPhone in the first place? Since all these other phones already had better technology?

The iPhone was the best phone at the time I got it. Now Microsoft and Google have kicked it up and iOS is no longer the most impressive mobile operating system. People go with Apple because it is simple, you do it their way or no way at all. My point about the V6 Camaro which may seem irrelevant is that since I have used a Windows 7 Phone I will not buy another iPhone due to the fact that I have been over impressed with it. There is nothing short of a Redesign of iOS that could get me to buy another iPhone, just as I could never buy a V6 Camaro might seem irrelevant to you but that was how I compared it. Windows Phone 7 buttery smooth, fast and therefore is a V8, the iPhone is great until you overload it with apps and music and therefore is a V6. I use engine analogies for everything. Essentially the iPhone 4S is like slapping a Cold Air Intake, Headers and a Tune on an existing car instead of releasing a newer 10x better one.

Also I about the $1000 I bought the iPhone the day it came out, most expensive model. Came to roughly $960 after tax and as for the throwing out comparison it was more so a testament to the fact that you can get an iPhone for you said $300 (in Canada on a 3 year contract we can too) or for just a little more you can get a much better phone for just a little bit more that is insured to get full updates, minus the obvious updates for cars.
