I've had a few foreign cars. My last Japanese car was in 1990 when I traded on a Chevy. I like all kinds of cars, but I no longer have an interest in any Japanese brand. Most of my cars have been GM.

Obviously, since I went from being a mustang owner to Camaro... I don't really take the whole "brand" thing too seriously. I buy what I think suits me and what I like. After all, I'm paying for it.

My dad is pretty diehard Chevy though. He's had Chevy trucks as long as I can remember. And he drives A LOT... so they're pretty solid trucks when he's getting 400k+ out of them. I can see why he sticks with it.

My mom is obsessed with her mini cooper and MINI in general.

The garage mate to my 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS is a Ford F150. It is a 1997 that I have had for 14 years. Has almost 300K on the clock and there is nothing wrong with it. My dad and my grandparents retired from GM, and I work at GM headquarters. I buy what I like.......

I have the same loyalty. My family has been buying Chevrolet from the same dealer since the 30's and I love them. I strayed once for six months with a sebring and felt guilty and got rid of it (not because of guilt but because it sucked), and I once owned a BMW (not in the same league as American cars IMO), but I'll never not own a Chevrolet again.

Ive always loved chevys and i do consider myself a chevy guy but i do appreceiate good cars and i call myself a car guy and u cant be a car guy if u only like one brand of cars. Ive owned ford and nissans and a subaru was my first car but i just love the bowtie and lately i love what buick is putting out. Maybe im getting old lol.

Rule of thumb goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

So its ok to dabble in the Chrysler / Dodge camp as they have the same goal, death to the blue oval.
