Its weird you just get to a point where the pain doesn't matter and you find this odd Zen like state where your just happy not to be dead. Funny thing was I was on vacation in Coronado California when this happened. I got released the next day and couldn't visit a doctor for a follow up visit until Monday so I just booked a plane home on Monday morning and finished the trip out.
Thats called adrenaline. lol. I can't believe you were that calm. But I hear that happens to alot of people after wrecks, they are just chill. I can't believe you finished your trip! Thats crazy! I sould have been freaking out. Thankfully I have never been in a wreck, knock on wood.

Well the irony of all this is that I've been a lot of wreck/accidents over the years in recreational activity. The first thing you do is make sure you can open your eyes, second see if all your limbs will work and then try to get up. At the time I thought I just had a sprain in my left arm because I could still move with the just the distal radius broken. I even told the fire department that I thought I should do back to the hotel room and sleep it off.... It was Super Bowl Weekend so I spent the Sunday at the Coronado Island Brewery. The beers had 9% to 12% alcohol by volume, coupled with some of the pain killers they gave me post hospital release it was a blissful day to say the least.

Yep my distal radius was sticking out the skin slightly, if I looked real close I might have noticed.

I've broken bones and had a nail through my foot and such but that stuff would freak me out. I'm serious. I wouldnt move I would sit there and close my eyes. I'm suprised they let you leave the hospital so early. I can't even do painkillers they make me .

So I just got a call from my dealer. Apparently my 5 year 6% loan with a 12k balance is what they consider high. They were wondering if I'd like a 2011 Camaro with 1.9% APR instead. Anyone think I should make the switch?

Well they did CAT Scans and plenty of X-rays on my chest to show that I had no internal damage. Once the concussion symptoms went away they asked if I wanted to go, so I did. I didn't have my cell on me so I made about 20 calls when I got back to the hotel. That coupled with the pictures I put on Facebook freaked a lot of people out. In retrospect the only thing I regret is only taking 3 days of leave to have the plate put in, I could have had at least a month at full pay.

That was the thing that got me, I think they are trying to clear stuff off the lot. My car is probably only worth 27k on a trade it, so that loan balance would be probably 6k higher for another 1SS. At that point my payments would be higher, not lower.

Edit: Actually at $6,000 higher on the loan but at 4.1% lower interest my payments would be only be about $10 dollars higher a month. Also it would be 60 payments again rather than the 40 something I have not. This is assuming I would qualify.

Me and Skip decided to go get iPhones when the 5 comes out and he would get a 4. And he went and got it without me.

I'm old enough to remember when car loans were a lot higher than 6%. If I owed more it would probably be worth looking into but I want mine paid off by 2015 just in time for the next generation. Something has to replace the DD and I'm hoping for a 6th Gen Camaro.

That whole arm situation is one of my favorite stories to tell. I've been involved in Loss Prevention for 10 years and have lots of good stories about shoplifters, employees who steal and some colorful stuff in the "other" category but nothing compares to getting hit by a car.
