In my case that wasn't even an option since I had a concussion nor any major pain killers for that matter. As for the healing process... With a complete compound fracture I was given a diagnosis of having only 70% usage of my left arm. They set the arm in San Diego but it slipped out of place so I got the metal plate. After that it was two solid months of rehab 12 hours a week.

Still I would freak out, I mean I can't even get a shot because the thought of the needle in my arm makes me hyperventilate.

Oh my goodness. I can't even imagine, I just know they would either have to put me out of my misery or put me in a coma. I couldnt do it.

try having your lungs full of fluid and having a rod drilled through your back so you can breath....each breath really hurts.... and it goes on for months!

Best part was the impact didn't even knock me out. I remember standing on the side of the road after I got up trying to move my arm. The first officer who showed up asked me how in the hell I was even standing. I was just glad I could move at all because I saw that car coming at the last second when she ran the sign and knew what was going to happen. Its weird you just get to a point where the pain doesn't matter and you find this odd Zen like state where your just happy not to be dead. Funny thing was I was on vacation in Coronado California when this happened. I got released the next day and couldn't visit a doctor for a follow up visit until Monday so I just booked a plane home on Monday morning and finished the trip out.

We had a young horse shatter her hip, and they put her down. Never seen my Dad cry, and he looked like he had been crying for hours when he showed up. So sad.
