It's similar to studding the tires on your car (not your ever-lovin' Camaro, of course) will get ya' plenty longer tire life, though it runs rough-shod over our roads. This is definitely more of a rural solution, for the car, not the shoes.

I have the sudden urge to try this in Scottsdale, I can picture the havoc now.
