It doesn't really make any sense to me as you can buy out your lease at anytime correct? There may be a penalty for buying out early but nevertheless it shouldn't be any different if Chevy buys the car. In my opinion I would tell ford to take a flying leap in a rolling donut and express that time is money... Do they plan on paying you for your time strolling in their dealership for absolutely nothing. You really shouldn't have to deal with it nor should you have to appear at their dealership.

So the assumption here is that everything that the guy from the Chevy dealer is saying is true.......And he is a car salesman......... Yea, right........More likely they had to pay more than they thought and are now trying to get some more money out of you.....Tell them you got busy and forgot to call them for a few months....

Ahh, Still the deal is done. Let them talk but you don't owe them anything. Same thing happened with my old man when he bought a 96 Mustang years ago. They made a mistake and told my dad to come in as they needed to discuss "Missing Money"... They sold the car 3k cheaper than they should have and my dad told them to flip off... DO NOT RE WRITE A CONTRACT. They tried pulling that with my dad. Your contract is set in "Stone"

Not cool. Hope it works out for you. Can't for the life of me see how it should be your problem.

People trade in modded cars all the time. The lease is really no issue as Ford is not buying the car back. I hope you do not end up seeing a different side to your friend and all works out. They can't take back your Camaro. It is now used and registered in your name. As others have stated, do not agree to rewrite any contract.

You can't do mods that aren't reversible on leased cars, unless you buy the car at the end of the lease. The Chevy dealer probably planned on returning the car to Ford, but Ford won't accept it with the mods unless you buy or lease another car from them. Pretty standard stuff. Ford owns the car, and they can stipulate that only the lessee (you) can buy it from them. Trading in a leased car to a different manufacturer is probably never as simple as you were led to believe. Sounds like the Chevy dealer really screwed up.
