Meeting Deb was a genuine pleasure...

When I left last time, my builder wanted to keep the car so that he could play with the clutch... He wasn't happy with the way it was shifting....

He removed the tranny and clutch, and took pics of it and talked to ACT. they looked at the pics and wanted to see the clutch hand, so it was shipped to them... They looked at it and measured everything, and before it was over, the owner of ACT was involved. they made some changes to the various components and sent it back. It arrived Friday afternoon, and will be reinstalled tomorrow. Corey and company are also going to modify the exhaust a little bit to make it easier to work on. I'll get started on building a fuel cell for under the hood for race gas for my run at the mile...

We are thinking, race fuel, more boost, and a 150 shot of nitrous ought to put us in the 1200-1300 hp range. we ought to easily be able to go well over 200 mph in the mile...

I leave to go back to the wonderful fun in the sun on July 2nd....

But I have an excuse - really I do!!!! I was up almost all night - if you can call the hour of shut-eye I got "sleep" - walking in the Relay for Life! The Relay I was involved in raised $185,000 for the American Cancer Society. That made being up all night worth it...

Been out galavanting, getting my aviator sunglasses - ordered from Eyemasters and picked 'em up 3 hours later. (I broke my Serengettis for good at the dealer the day I bought my car in mid-March. Got a different style replacement pair and I never "loved" 'em). Got my pilot glasses again. mucho better.

In between, hooked up with my sister and went to see "Super 8," and hit Costco.

Now I'm home relaxing in the Old Farts lounge with a cold one.

Jealous that you got to meet Deb. I want to meet ALL my ol' fart friends. But we're kinda scattered around I guess.

200 mph in the mile.... yikes! You Texas boys don't do anything little do ya? (I should include myself in that. Born in Lubbock.)

At least you have a while before you have to head back to the fun in the sun rig.

WOW! $185,000. That's great. I'm going to a car show next weekend whose purpose is to raise money to put coats on the backs of underpriviledged kids this coming winter. We usually have a great turnout.

Is Super8 any good? I saw a little preview thing about the making of it a few weeks ago. The guy in it that plays the coach on "Friday Night Lights" is one of my favorite actors. I've heard that women fall all over themselves to introduce themselves to him in his hometown in Texas.

It was OK. It's a cinematic love child of a 3-way union of The Goonies, ET and War of the Worlds (the recent one with Tome Cruise).

Some of the camera shots were right out out ET. It's Spielberg imitating Spielberg . Like jello, its OK, but you wish there was more to it. I give it a C for cliche.

I was out tearing up the N Carolina and Georgia mtn rds! Tail of the Dragon, 318 curves in 11 miles! Not to mention Hwy 129 south from Deals Gap to Cleveland Georgia. I'm exhausted!

There were around eight or so 5th Gens, and I was on my Harley due to my car still being in the shop....

all in all, a great night and all the better for having met Deb...

Deb, it was a real pleasure..
SSE, the treat was mine with meeting you. Absolutely one of the highlights of my trip down here to TX. Also had a wonderful time seeing the TX gang and their cars.

Y'know... this Texas place is kinda ok.

...almost as nice as Oklahoma

Robert... don't say it... Oklahoma might blow, but some realize that's a GOOD thing

(Texas sucking like it does could be considered a good character trait as well)

Hmm, I may strike it off my list till the DVD comes out. Then only if I'm a little too bored. Thx for the tip.

Ohhhh... it's just this little place called Ausin

(I'd comment on the size of TX and how far everything is spread out but I'd get myself in trouble... again. )

Texas is okay, minus the "Longhorns"

Boomer Sooner!

Nah, I like the rivalry.

Y'all have fun. It's nice to meet our fellow Old Farts. Some time we should have an old fart convention.
