Ok, the Chevrolet Aveo has an American brand, but it's made in Korea.

I tend to like the American brands and German Brands. I don't really like Toyota. Their cars are all too practical and too little fun. Even Lexus... They have 2 fast cars now, but for the price, I'd rather buy a number of other fast cars from other brands. Some Hondas have appealed to me over the years, but nothing in their lineup appeals to me today. I like some of Nissan's designs. Mitsubishi is lame. Suzuki is a joke. Subaru is cool though. I'd buy an AWD subaru.

The Camaro is an American vehicle. No, it wasn't assembled in the USA, but it sure as hell spent the first four or five years of it's life going through design, engineering and logistics in the USA.
I love this stuff. The concept car was done in Detroit (Warren, MI specifically).

The car is based on a chassis largely designed, engineered and tested in Australia.
Damn near all of the electronics in the car come from Japan and China.
The transmissions come from Japan (Aisin) or Mexico (TR6060).
The car's exterior designer came from Korea. (A Korean had his finger closer to the pulse of American muscle than Americans did )
The car is assembled in Canada and sold all over the world.
The LLT V6 originated in Europe.
The car was tested in Australia, the US, Germany, and Canada.

The car always was, and will continue to be, an international joint effort. The 5th gen Camaro has never been at any point in its life cycle, a purely American car.

And that's perfectly ok

You bring together the best of the best, from all over the world, and you get a truly world class car.

Very well organized statement. And it is factual.

I have a 95 Honda accord and it'll last me longer than any American made product under the sun. I'm a chevy guy but when you travel for work reliability is a must and Honda and toyota are both much more reliable than gm ford or dodge combined. Old chevy trucks were very dependable but when you need gas savers AND reliabity foreign is the way to go.

I've only bought cars built by American companies. I don't care what the parts content is or where the factory is, so long as the money goes back to Detroit.

Aren't Dodges "foreign" cars now that they are owned mainly by Fiat a Italian company? Similar to how Scions are "foreign" cars because they are owned by Toyota?

BTW. I don't care where my car is made, though I do like American cars I also like BMW/Merc though was never a fan of hondas or toyota (though that a personal preference and has nothing to do with them being foreign).

If you want an American-made car, go get yourself a Tesla Roadster. It was designed, engineered, and built in the USA. Granted the price tag is in the $110k range, however I imagine most products designed, engineered, and built in the USA are more expensive than their foreign counterparts...
