71 and 72 Chevelle introduced those taillights on the Chevelles, so the mid 70s Malibus were just carrying them forward. Remember, Malinu was a Chevelle package.
70-73 Camaro had them as well.
And the Vette had just started using them in 68.

In all, I love round taillight Chevy's.

Those 'bu lights are different enough for me. And in all, that styling should help GM sell plenty.

I like it. Borrowed taillights or not, it's not going to be a camaro. I don't care if it's similar. It's a sharp looking design and GM needs to make 4 door cars like this to appeal to a broader base of buyers. GM staying afloat and making $$$$$$$$$ = better cars, better service, better technology for us down the line.

That new Malibu is going to be gorgeous. I like that Chevrolet is moving toward aggressive styling on all models.

The car looks fantastic from that 3d model...can't wait to see more!

I see from the pic above that the tail lights are a bit different, and more futuristing looking in my opinion, but I can also say I'd hate it if another car shared the same rear lighting.

As of right now, the next Fusion is not being planned as a four cylinder only car. Of course, almost anything can happen between now and when the car debuts, but I would be surprised if they change their mind on this..

With all the effort they've put into ecoboost (from both an engineering and marketing standpoint) I would be shocked if Ford included a V6 on the next gen Fusion. Thats the sort application I figured it was designed for in the first place.
