i was referring to the wheels only, lol.... so you don't need to get your eyes checked. It's just too much chrome.

I think it looks great... The only thing I would change is the wheels...

They forced an automatic on this car AND I HATE WHEN CAR MAKERS DO THIS!!! For me, if there is no stick option then you lost me as a customer, PERIOD!

I love the G8, but now because of the automatics I would not consider it.

I hope someone reads this and tells me I'm wrong about the no stick option, but I think I'm right about that.
Yea, can you believe Mercedez-Benz doesn't offer a stick on any of their cars?
And that shift peddle things are just a toy....

My high school auto's teacher said it best: "Your only a good driver if you know how to drive stick, if not the best you can be is a good steerer."

They will offer a manual, but not in the first year... why?:

It takes a LOT longer to certify a manual-trans car with the EPA.

The process for auto-trans cars is pretty easy... give your car to them with the production shift-logic and they run it. Easy.

For a manual there has to be a prescribed shift-pattern that the EPA uses to ensure the best mileage, and as result, the procedure takes longer to design and implemement.

My guess is late 2009 for the manual (though depending on the sales, they may not offer it at all).

BTW, was anyone else surprised that the G8 is LARGER than a BMW 550i? Its larger than than the MB E550?

From what I can find, the G8 larger in EVERY dimension except height... it just doesn't look that way in the pics.

Not really. GM likes to make cars big. Rarely will the GM offering be the smallest of its competitors. Now why do they do this? Well lots of people like their cars a bit bigger and that gives them an easy advantage over competitors

And with the easy fuel economy advantages they have, (with their V8's at least) they don't necessarily have to worry too much about that, IMO

Not every car modder is a country fan. I think rap/hip hop is more into customizing of cars. There are more hip hop artists/groups than anyone else that talk about their "rides". Hip hop is the new beach boys...

or let trace adkins trick out a CTS country is america and GM is america, it just goes together. 50 cent is more of a lambo guy. of course we all knew that, hes a rapper. rappers like stuff like that, have you ever watched their videos?

i didnt mean it like that, i meant like country music isnt realy popular, but its like what this country was founded on, and chevys motto is "american revolution. so like... idk it just seems to go together

and have you ever seen the chevy magazines? i got one in my room for 2007 thats got josh turner, taylor swift, brad paisley, and the guys from montgomery gentry and brooks & dunn. notice anything?
theyr all country artists and i got one for 2008 last month that was all country artists. idk it just always seemed to go together

This country was "founded" on european standards. We immigrated from the UK. We should let the beatles design the edition by what you said. =P

Slavery was a big part of this country's prosperity also, it happens that the low class "ghetto" rappers who's ancestors were slaves are also an important part of american history. I think it's mostly just that no other genres of music talk about cars as much as hip hop and rock. when I thinkk country, I think people glad to "have friends in low places" and "My dog died, wife left and truck's broke". The only upbeat happy song in the genre that I can think of is "Who's bed have your boots been under" by the female singer. I'd much rather have the beach boys make a pt cruiser/woody, but I don't think anyone other than a rapper or rocker would even WANT to design their own edition car. Superstarrs normally get chauffered around though, no?

you dont get out much do you? they havent sang songs like that since like the late 90's, sure there are some songs out now that are about people being sad and stuff like that, but the reason i sed trace adkins is cuz he just came out with a song called "i got my game on" and theres a part where it says "get to the club in my caddy, with my custom 24's" and taylor swift was the first singer that came to mind. and i never said that slaves didnt play a big part in our countries history, without them we wood have never had the civil war, and linkin wook have never been shot (probably). and did u say low class? once again have you ever watched one of their videos?they got lambos and feraris and all those like super cars that cost like 300,000 dollars

I think that 50 edition G8 kinda looks like a big M3...or maby I need glasses.

by the way I agree with ya mindz, chevy today I think ok the rapper TI who was in a few chevy commercials, and had the camaro concept in his video. In that video there were nothing but chevys in it. I could easily list many songs where rappers are talking about or mention chevy's olds, and caddy's in it....sorry off topic
