Oakland or San Bernardino? Hmm, let's see.

Try lasting one week in EAST OAKLAND EMMER EFFER.

I'm sure times was hard on the base, airplane man, times was HARD, wasn't they?
I lived and worked much of my life in East Oakland, though I was born at MacArthur and Broadway, the old Kaiser. Now I live in Fontana which is near San Bernardino. They are both cities with poor populations, though I'd have to say that Oakland is worse off that way. The weather is better in Oakland, not so hot as in the desert. But there are fewer drive-bys down here.
The key difference I found when I moved here was that I needed to learn Spanish to communicate with folks. I did. Now, it's all good.

Wow... it's as if this thread were tailored for you to give an authoritative opinion.

We have been getting thunder, rain and HAIL in oakland. It scares my paint.

The subject DID seem particularly well suited to my background, though I'd hardly say I am authoritative 'bout much at all. I'm usually fulla' shit just as much as the next dude.

When ya' talk 'bout rain an' thunder you make me homesick. That hail ain't no nevermind in good ol' Oakland. It's of the small curd variety, and never lasts more than a coupla' minutes. Man, I wish I could hear it, right now, dropping, fizz-like inta' Lake Merritt.

It's a great car, but it is not going to change your life or who pays attention to you. Plus I'm quite sure drug dealers are not going to be interested in a 2LT.
I was right there with you, right up and until you added: "Plus I'm quite sure drug dealers are not going to be interested in a 2LT" There is no reason to be a like that . We're all Camaro enthusiasts on this site.

In my 'hood/barrio the narco-trafiquantes ride bicycles for the most part, that way if the chota comes too close, they can ditch the ride and melt into the apartment complex. No loud dip-setting followed by felony car chases.

Either they like your car OR using your car as cover away from others for whomever they're meeting to get drugs from or sell drugs too! IE: "yo I'm in the back away from everyone by that bright red camaro magn!" DUH! (disclaimer: I saw the later part of my post on a 60 mins episode year ago or so /cough)
