Protein before and after a workout is CRITICAL to losing fat and gaining muscle. Taking around 10-20 grams of protein 30 minutes before working out helps your blood carry more oxygen, therefore making your stamina last longer. When you are finished working out is is VITAL to have at least 20 grams of protein 30 minutes after. Having lots of carbs after a workout is only going to hinder or slow your progress. Look for a protein that uses whey isolates as they absord and your body can use them to create muscle faster.

This is what I use, http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp...046468.4065346

While gatorade is great for rehydrating avoid it. Instead drink just plain old water and add electrolytes to your water.

You can also take a pre-workout that will boost your energy and focus. I use Jack3d and LOVE it, but may not be right for most people. It makes me run faster, lift heavier and enjoy my workout a lot more. Some people it can make them feel jittery or weird (this is just it opening up your blood vessels). Lastly jacked is not a steriod or anything like that, it is just a caffine boost with other natural additives to help your workout.

If any women are concerned this will not help them stay trim and toned, I have been using this combo for 2 years and I am very toned and strong for my weight (150). It all comes down to reps done (i do 3 sets of 12) and length of workout.

Hopefully I'm not repeating someone else and that someone can find this useful.
Your info is pretty much what most of us follow but their are many here who are new to this and it is good for them to hear it over and over untill they understand it's the right way.

I'm not familliar with Jack3d but it sounds to me very much like an NO booster, I have used a couple such as NOexplode and superpump, I do find my intensity higher with them although currently I am off of them as they may be contributing to other issues I'm having. Some people don't tolerate them at all and should if at all start with the minumal doses to see how they can tolerate them.

They did every test you can think of and other than their original mis-diagnosis they have come up with nothing.
Sounds like vertigo...that is so hard to pinpoint and treat! Take care...nothing to mess around with!

I to believe in more weight less reps but after using this type of program and seeing the results I use them often.
Awesome. Strength AND SIZE....that's what I want. I'll be good with that.

Oh...and here's today's results.

I did week 2 legs. Took FOREVER...since there are a LOT more reps and about a minute and a half between reps. Regardless, 1,379 calories burned just from lifting. I didn't even have the time to do cardio....lol

They don't think it's vertigo, they were fairly cinfident it is vasovagal syncope, last week I did a tilt table test and passed, they were amazed at how steady my heart rate stays and how fast it recovers, must be all the exercising, now that vasovagal has been ruled out no one knows.

These programs do produce good results. The one you posted I believe is of that type. The only thing I see that strikes me a little odd is that the amount of sets/reps is a little high. On the heavier weight days they show rep increasing as you do more sets, usually these programs would use heavy enough weights where you would go to or close to failure so reps would decrease. If you scroll back to post 1056 you will see a 4 day split I posted that explains how you would add weight and how the program works this is more typicall of this type of program which is what I think yours is based on, If I was you I'd probably drop a set or two and use more weight especially on the heavy days and take it close to failure. Although directly related strength is easier to build than size for most,

So, I've been a little MIA lately, trying to figure out some other stuff in my life in addition to my overall health. Made the decision almost 2 weeks ago to go low carb for a bit to get a kickstart (helped me lose 20 pounds very quickly in the past and I kept it off!). I am 2 pounds away from a total of 30 lost in the last few months! 30 more to go and I'll be a happy camper. Lost several inches all over and bought smaller pants AGAIN. I ramped up my workouts a bit, but not nearly as much as I should. Still working on that piece, but my head is in the right place and I'll get there.

That's great news. Low carbs usually work well for most people, just remember that when you reach your final goal introduce small amounts of carbs(clean) slowly as not to put back on the weight until you maintain. Ramping up the workouts works wonders. Low intensity workouts work somewhat but stepping it up is the way to go.

I decided next week I'm going to do a handfull of hyperextensions, that usually triggers it, maybe with the monitor on they will see something. I am going crazy, I did not adjust my calorie intake when I stopped working out and gained a few pounds in the week I got out of the hospital, I hopped on the scale the last two days and am up 12 pounds in about a month,I am bummed but hopefully not a problem, fortunately I can cut pretty easily.

Honestly NOexplode and superpump are garbage compared to jacked, it has a lot less unnecessary additives and yields a lot more results.
