I love the GP30's.... I've run one, they are really a unique locomotive, both in looks and sound. Its got the growl known to the 567 engine, but is the rare D3 version with the turbo.... and they will pull too! I've run the GP40-2's... but even those are getting "too modern". I liked the old stuff.... it dumb and won't tell you what to do like the modern stuff does

. Wheels start slipping on something new, it kills your power and throws down the sand automatically.... the old stuff, you had to do it all yourself

. I like the deadman pedal too.... just throw a brick on it and go to town!

Stupid alerters are just annoying these days. I got video somewhere of me running an old FP7 once.... I'll try to find it.

grew up always liking them... worked for them for a little over 4 years. I'd love to be back at it.... what a blast. I've run a bunch of older locomotives through friends I knew at museums. lol, I was always known to play with the horn.... here's someone blowing it normal.... the 2nd video is me

a bit of a difference

. 2 buddies of mine were in the cab with me that day... when I let off and cut off the bell.... they both just looked at me and the one goes "damnnnnnnnnn

". The video just doesn't do that horn justice, especially with me on the rope
