check this out.... been going through some old railroad magazines from the 1940's I got.... took this pic from a 1941 article.... Check out the pair of blowers on that engine! Those engines are a V16.... each cylinder is 567 cubic inches (9072ci total)!

I've got literally thousands of these old magazines from the late 30's through the early 50's.... been trying to sell some of them off on ebay. That magazine has pictures of the new F units for the Santa Fe showing inside and out, all the electrical parts, the prime movers, truck assembly.... even has the drawings for the locomotives showing the location of everything.... Its taking a while to list all these.... I keep getting interested. I've got a bunch with NYC stuff in it.... ads for their "new" locomotives (like in 1941 new)

I really like the GP 20, GP 30, GP40 units for freight and E7 and E8 units for passenger service. The history behind the passenger service between New York and Chicago is fasinating. I've got several DVD's on it.
