That's a tough question to answer because there are so many variables and one of the biggest is body type. In theory bulking is when your in a calorie surplus which is important for muscle growth. Very often you can cut or be in calorie deficit and look more muscular because when you shed the fat existing muscle seems more pronounced. Everybody is different but usually you can build muscle to a certain point without a large calorie surplus but once you reach your natural capacity that's it, to build muscle requies 3 basic things, the breakdown of existing muscle, proper nutrition to heal the muscles, and rest to allow them to grow(heal). If you eat super clean and are "in tune" with your body you can make adjustments to diet to provide adequate nutrition for muscle developement without much weight gain but because your bodies requirements change quickly the process is very slow and difficult to master so it's easier to eat a larger surplus of cals to allow for muscle growth and then burn the fat off while trying to maintain the muscle.

They won't because easy sells.

yes, at 18, you can eat like that, as long as he is maintaining his workout, but it's very bad habits he's learning and will not help him in his mid-late 20's.

I'm betting they are injecting B12 and not Test, as it does not sound legal at all. That is crossing into a whole other world of needing to know things, or he may end up with some pretty breast, crashing, body shutting down of creating own test, etc. Not really educated decision there, stay away.
Yeah, my right elbow has been acting up. Curls have been aggravating it more than the nose breakers though. Next week is my last week of this workout and I'll be changing it.

I did look in to the facility the guy at the gym told me about. Sure enough they're giving weekly Testosterone Cypionate injections. WOW. $99 a month. From the pamplet it seems all you have to do is go in and say you feel tired and they start them immediately haha.

Weighed today....a little disappointed as I went backwards (what I was afraid of adding the PWO shake and pre work out carbs). I'm cutting some cals in my afternoon snack, but if I don't go back to losing BF next Monday I'm done with the PWO shake.

165 (+2 lbs) 11.2% body fat (+.5%). Only things different last week were adding the 1/4 cup oats to my pre workout protein and 1.5 scoops of ON After Max PWO. This added about 255 cals to my diet. I did start that X7 thermogenic but that wasn't until Friday so I doubt that's it.

Could be a fluke so we'll see next Monday when I weigh again, but this is the first week in 10 weeks that I didn't drop exactly 1 lb.

Today's Workout

Chest/Biceps
HS Incline - 265 5/5/5/5/4
HS Bench - 225 5/4/4/4/3
HS Decline - 315 5x5
EZ Curl Bar - 110 5x5 (right elbow not happy)
Alt Dumbell Curl - 40 5x5 (couldn't find the 45s)
HS Curl Machine - 140 5x5
40 mins elliptical low intensity

Today's Meals

6am 1 Scoop On Pro Complex with 1/4 cup oats pre workout

9:30am 1.5 scoop ON After Max PWO

12pm 1/4 turkey sub, 1oz pretzels, 1 cup broccoli, 1tbsp ICBINBL

3pm 2 HB egg whites, 1 apple, 1 carb master yogurt

7:30pm chicken stir fry (NO RICE), spinach salad

if it were me, and I'm trying to lose weight, I'm dropping all the carbs I don't need, for example.. why do I need oats in my pre-workout shake? Oats are good, and will give me some energy.. but is it REALLY needed? Then, I would try and add a protein bar, or some other meat/cheese snack in the day to up the protein a little more.

no, not the only way. It may depend on how well you can manage your meals and calories. You don't want to get "fat" trying to bulk, so if it's very difficult for you to adjust your meals or lose fat, gaining it lean may be best for you. Depends on so many factors, body type, age, muscle age, meal control, etc.

Yep, I may go back to that next week. I have felt better with the extra carbs pre and post WO, but if things go the wrong direction......

Being sick has been keeping me from my workouts. Bummer. But probably not gaining any weight. Hopefully I can resume tomorrow.

I did 2 rounds of INSANITY... and yes, its INSANE!!! But a great way to shed fat from those stubborn areas... and the nutrition book that comes with it is awesome...

They have a new INSANITY out called "The Asylum".. I still need to pick that one up..
