My Mark AR BDC is calibrated for 55g/.223. My plinking round is 62g M855. The BDC changes if I start shooting heavier bullets like some 69g SMK. Might want to talk to Leupold custom shop. They can build you a Mark AR set up for the 6.5 and the weight bullet you will be shooting.
Thanks a lot for your reply and opinion on Mark AR scope. I was looking at the Mil dot model scope instead of the bullet compensated models. I like mil dot scopes and I like the principal on the range calculations and being able to use the mil dots to gauge bullet impact. Once I chronograph my ammo I should be able to get pretty good hits using the mil dots given I can read the wind.

Need some advice

I'm new to guns and would like to get a small pistol, probably a 22, just for self defense if someone broke into my house (I now have an alarm system and would know if a window or door was breached). I don't want to blow an intruder to kingdom-come, just get his attention so he would change his mind and leave.... limping, perhaps.
What inexpensive pistol would you recommend? Thanks.

Buy a large dog instead. Seriously.

Imo if you had two options, buy a 22 pistol or a large dog, I would choose the dog too. Rimfire ammo is simply not reliable enough to be used in life or death situations.

I'm a big S&W fan...... but the Sigma is a total POS. Better off getting the M&P40 or the new SD40... both are a bit more, but worth it from a reliability standpoint. The sigma's great for practicing clearing jams though

well, there are a lot of parts for the Sigma that ironically fit in a Glock..... they had a big ordeal and a lawsuit against S&W for copyright issues.

I've yet to see or hold a SD series yet in person.... looks like just an improvement on the Sigma series. Appears in the pic to have the same trigger as the M&P (Very good). I've put a few hundred rounds through a M&P .40 and about 20 through a M&P 9mm.... both are extremely good, never had an issue and I was making the holes touch each other at 10-15 yards

That's about like asking if Chevy's are a bad car...... there's corvettes and then there are Vegas . There are some Taurus that are junk but there are some that are ok. Some of their 1911's are ok, but they have a "1911 B1" model instead of the normal A1..... so all the parts are funky for sights, grips etc. They also have a model 92 (if I remember right) thats basically a Beretta 92FS..... just with their name on it. I forget the taurus model name, but its basically the same. Comes in 9mm, but if I remember right, they make a .40 too now. Its an all steel gun, so heavy.... but very accurate and has a great single action trigger.
