This is looking better, not sure if you could but If you move one of the snacks to before lunch and one to after dinner it would make more sense.it would be much more balanced and provide a more equal blood sugar level(insulin) A couple of questions to help me understand, what's with the peant butter, this menu seems much more balanced but the peanut butter makes the fat content a bit high

I was just looking at the ratios in a calculator and I may eliminate the 6pm peanut butter and double the protein.

I love peanut butter LOL.

Ugh, they just brought in Jet's pizza here at the office for everybody. Between that and vendors bringing me boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts sheesh. Lucky I'm disciplined.

Here's a meal replacement shake I like for those interested.

1 scoops ON Whey protein
1/2 banana
1/4 cup steel cut oats
1tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup low fat milk

Mix in a blender = delicious

For bulking I double everything in the shake.

Ok, maybe you could try something like this, as mentioned before all natural peanut butter may be a much better choice there is a huge difference, many regular peanut butters are much higher in fat but not good fat, they are made wiht some type of hydrogenated oils( avoid them at all costs) and added sugars read the label, that's also why I mentioned before the chips and pretzels, most are also made with hydrogenated oils they are your enemy. If you eat your protein and peanutbutter add a small amount of carbs to it, you can reduce the carbs in one of your other meals that are a little high in them. Something I do to increase protein intake is I use plain nonfat greek yogurt, it's kind of bland so as I do with oatmeal I always add a scoop of vanilla protein powder it makes both of them much better tasting and you get the protein boost.

That's a good idea on the vanilla protein added to the yogurt. I've found I like the carbmaster yogurt pretty good - 2 sugars and 12g of protein but I need to read the ingredients. Will do that today.

When I run out of protein I'll check the label against the natty one to see if there's a difference. If so I'll go with the natty next go round.

I'll also see what I can find to replace the baked chips/pretzels. Maybe wheat thins like hrpii mentioned. I just need something with a hint of salt that's crunchy at times to keep my meals from feeling so bland.

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction, there are pretzels and chips that may be ok, always look for ones made with whole grains and with everything you eat you should read the labels, here is somethings that may help, always read the INGREDIENT list, sometimes the labels are very decieving, many HEALTHY foods are not so healthy, for example look at some of your whole grain breads, the nutrition labels look pretty good but when you read the ingredients many times you will find hydrogenated oils and sugars, ingredient lists have the higher content ingredients first so for example take your peanut butter, if you see a list that say peanuts, hydrogenated oil, sugar natural flavors or such it's garbage. Peanut butter labels should read something like made with whole peanuts....... Remember many times hydrogenated oils are used as preservatives and are not required to show up on the nutrition list. In case you didn't know hydrogenated oils are the crappiest fats man created in there purist form they are what we no as products Like CRISCO, you might as well just eat a spoonful of that crap.

Also even though I do not know what are in MRE's I have seen something sometime ago in that the rations the army provides are designed to be balanced and provide adequate nutrition. Sometimes even if the calorie content is slightly high if proportioned right it may not be that much of a setback also when calorie intake is restricted for a lengthy period it is sometimes advantageous to up the calorie intake for a short period, so all in all I would say keep things the way they are, at any time no changes are indicated for a period of about two weeks or if things go the wrong way (weight gain) then re-evaluate your plan but for now I'd say it looks great. If I remember correctly it was maybe 3-4 weeks ago you had the bodpod measurement taken, when will you be able to do it again?
MREs are "Meals, Ready To Eat)...they have 1200 calories in ONE meal! I will say they have come a long way in taste and variety. As for the Bod Pod, since I am in training and will head straight from here to Afghanistan I probably won't get an opportunity to get measured before I leave. So in absense of that I am planning on using pics to help measure my success!

1200 is a lot of cals for one meal (about the same as a big mac meal) but you don't see to many people getting fat while deployed a lot may have to do with how the cals are made up, for example if they come from a high protein content it is not easily stored as fat but I have a feeling they are high in carbs, also although not working out in the true sense I would imagine your not going to be sitting on your but all day so the daily calorie burn may be real high, when all is said and done it's still basically cals in cals out
