that being said, the only thing a greater number of pistons allows you to do is go with a larger Brake pad, and also a larger rotor. when it comes to performance and track driving the front brakes are doing an absolutely overwhelming amount of the work. I still use the stock calipers on my car and i track my car very heavily with absolutely no fade. Hell even Ford/ roush use 1 piston calipers on their Grand-Am racing cars. when it comes to the rears the size of the calipers/rotors are for almost entirely cosmetic reasons. I will be the first to admit that the rear brakes look extremely tacky with the brembos up front. My rears look cartoonishly small with my 6 piston calipers up front. |

a rant...nevermind. I know that front brakes do more work than the rears. I didn't really speak in terms of one or the other...just generally. |

Like I said if it's the best braking system in the price range, and I can't think of a better one, how is it 'sub par' as somebody else mentioned earlier? Quote:
http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/11/p...hevrolet-volt/ And IIRC GM received money from the U.S. government in the form of grants to develop an electric vehicle. Realistically, that could be an extremely serious criminal offense depending upon the government's view of what constitutes an electric vehicle. I think the question here is how self righteous we want to get. Crap happens, and I'll agree that everyone who thought their GT had two piston calipers in the back and who is now unhappy due to the same, which I am guessing is a relatively small percentage of folks, should get something in compensation. That said, I worked in this industry for a time, and this happens to every manufacturer. |

You don't need to get so defensive, syr...how many times must it be tossed out there that the vast majority of members here are Camaro enthusiasts?

As for your suggestion that I am being defensive, after re-reading my post I must admit that I don't see that. I'm going to argue that this is because it isn't actually there. Perhaps the problem here is comprehension. Inflection is an area where our schools are woefully failing us of late. As for what kind of enthusiasts are on this site. I was addressing the obvious immaturity in the posts, and not anything specifically dealing with Camaro enthusiasts or even the car itself. |

All i am saying is the error Ford made is small. there is absolutely no performance difference and hell... it took people a year to notice. |

Regardless of the performance difference they may have I think it's pretty crappy of them to just stick a cast iron piece on the rear. I love the looks of the Camaros brakes I'm sure most Mustang owners that choose the option would have paid a bit more for the nicer rears.

I wouldn't say I was an intentional lie by Ford. Probably a miscommunication between engineering and marketing that led to incorrect wording by marketing. It happens all the time with large corporations. Not a big deal.
