And the avalanche/ext needs to go bye-bye. They are nice and all, but just buy a crew cab pickup. Why waste the $ on having the extra model around that does the same thing

Its for the people who generally want interior space, but occasionally want the extra bed length of a long bed pickup. Plus, it comes with a tonneau making the shortbed the largest trunk in the industry and better suited as an every day vehicle. I think the interior of the Avalanche is setup more like the Tahoe than the Silverado, but I'm not sure (or if that even makes much of a difference).

Avalanche in overly simple terms is a Suburban with the rear cargo area hacked off and replaced by a truck bed.

I am just making the point that the model doesn't need to be offered, especially if they only sold around 20,000 units.

Do you remember the Envoy XUV from a few years back? Same concept. It's a really neat idea to have, but it just doesn't sell that well.

I like overly simple. And this is exactly how I describe it to people.

Don't get me wrong fellas, they are really nice and I know 2 people that have them and say nothing but good about them. It just seems to be a bit of a duplicate/added cost to manufacture a whole different model for just a few people a year.

Interesting.

I was looking at getting a Suburban or Tahoe for my family's next "family truckster" but I'm turned off by the lack of engine choices and the price tags. I've had a few problems with my Silverado with the 5.3L (AFM) engine and 6SP automatic (replaced cam/lifters at 44,000Miles and replaced part of the transmission at 30,000 miles), so I want something other than the 5.3L which is the only engine currently available in the Tahoe and Suburban 1/2 ton and in the Suburban 3/4 ton, only the 6.0L is offered. While that's a good engine, I'd like more options. Hopefully, we'll see not only some new interior/exterior designs, but also some more engine choices. It would be great to see them sooner than later as well.

For the Suburban I do not think so they need something large that can tow and offer 1 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton version. The Tahoe I can see that changing or going away since we have the Traverse.

I have a 2005 avalanche z71 and it's the best vehicle I have ever owned. GM failed to push it in advertising and this is the result. The avalanche needs to stay. And the tahi etc need to go. Too much crossover with gmc. Escalade ext also needs to go. Just the avalanche need to stick.
