Sure he was a transient but he's still a human being. We saved him from passing out and possibly dying behind a bush by the side of the road with no one to know, or possibly stumbling into the road and getting hit by a car or truck. Plus it's winter here dude, it's no time for someone that sick to be living outside.
Hundreds of people like Berean drove right on by and didn't even see someone having trouble. Yeah he's gonna die, and probably pretty soon, but not today and not because I failed to do something to prevent it like so many others did.

You are mistaken if you think I wouldn't have stopped. I was making a different point with my comment. Matt 6:1

He's still going to die someday. Will you be there? Can you save him?

Meybe a dev can change my post title to "HELPED a Homeless Guy Today". God knows I didn't save him. Thanks for pointing out the futile, Berean.

He got pretty busy, what with all the paramedics sticking tubes in him and what not. Sorry. I got out of the way and let them do their job.

there is nothing wrong with the title. you saved him at that point in his life. Berean has no clue what he's talking about.

Understood. Did you get his name? Have you visited him in the hospital yet or are you planning to?

I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. I'm not sure anyone is getting my point though.

If your point is to sound supercilous you're doing a great job. I finished helping the other person I was helping when we went and helped the helpless hapless homeless guy. Meybe someone will help me out when I need it someday.

I'm trying to figure out if the self congratulations and laudatory comments from the easily impressed are just attempts at shallow self indulgence, or something substantial that will matter in eternity.

Does compassion end when the ambulance leaves, or does the hard work of self sacrifice begin?

Let us not insult the poor and downtrodden with delusions of compassion that are nothing more than telephone calls.

When you've invested your time and money into this man's life, then you can tell us how you've saved him.

Until then, all you've done is give him another day to wander the streets in quiet desperation.

HeRS, good job of putting someone else before your own busy day. Berean, say whatever you really want to say and then quit being a jerk. Frankly is comments like yours that have driven me away from Camaro5

Oh good you have said it. Since you are so concerned then perhaps you can ask heRS where exactly this happened and you can track down the individual and take over his care since you seem so disgusted with the way it was handled by another. I for one will look forward to hearing how you make out in his care. It won't be self indulging for you to tell because it will be for me. I love to have good examples to follow and look forward to learning from your expertise
