I'm still waiting to walk over to the gym... anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I'm not wearing gym clothes, just some jeans and a t-shirt so I don;t want to get too sweaty... I can bring some to work in the future though.

I'm back... the treadmill said I burned 241 calories. Not bad for a quick 30 min walk.

Calories are calories no matter if they are "healthy" calories or mayo fat calories. With your Zumba and dance, you are really burning some calories and we would need to measure that to see if you are needing more calories to get some muscle. Our muscles hold A LOT of great nutrients our bodies want to burn. If we are doing a lot of manual labor, exercising, lifting heavy, etc.. your body is needing a little more nutrition to keep up. That is why so many people have a hard time trying to lose weight, they are NOT getting enough nutrition. That's right, you need to eat more to lose more. ..and we all want to be in that catagory. |

Don't give me this excuse about kids either.. As a responsible parent, you are responsible for your childs health... Do not put them down this same path you are HAVING to go down now. Kids don't need that juice box, or Little Debbie cake.. they can eat fruit, apples and everything else. If it's not in the HOUSE, they can not eat it either! |

Great JOB! Anytime someone makes that first step, and then repeats and respeats and repeats each of those trips to the gym, you earn my respect. Go Make it happen! You will not believe the energy you have throughout the day when you are in great shape. You feel better, you work better, you do everything better cause you feel like you can not be stopped!

P90X is an intense work out program. It has 12 workouts and a nutrition plan. This program is not for the weak of heart...it is TOUGH but you will see awesome results if you stick with it!! You can learn more at http://www.beachbody.com/product/fit...nt=P90X_MS2_C2

My achilles heel is that I am a vegetarian...so I don't get the protein I need...so that is something that I am really focusing on this year. Any tips or recipes will be greatly appreciated! The other problem is I am also a runner....so I need carbs...the P90X diet (so far) doesn't really allow too many carbs so I have to modify it a little to add the carbs I need...with whole wheat/whole grain carbs of course!!

Your body can convert protein (and fats) to carbs for energy, but it can not convert carbs to protein for muscle building. Do you care for any of the high quality protein shakes (or protein powders). Like VPX Zero Carb protein (Graham Cracker..OMG is so good). Protein for Vegetarins: Legumes (beans/soy beans) Nuts/Seeds Dairy Cereal-Food grains Fruits EGGS! |

I like the Syntha6 protein powder....tastes great and has less calories than most protein powders. I will look into the ones you mentioned though. I'm pretty much aware of the non-meat protein choices, I'm just not sure how to creatively work them in, ya know? I like putting beans on my salads and like nuts as a snack. I also eat the heck out of the Morning Star soy protein options they offer but am looking for some good full meal ideas that my non-vegetarian husband will rave over. I DO eat fish/seafood, so I am not completely limited and love the fact I get my Omega-3s.That is what my husband tries to tell me but I think it is a bunch of

Great Protein Powders I have used over the years. These are Quality Protein powders, low sugars, no fillers, taste great, mix well. You do get what you pay for.
VPX Zero Carb BSN Lean Dessert Opt Nutrition Pro Complex Monster Milk Beverly International Dymatize if anyone is interested in online sites I order from, I could post those also. |
