I say take EVERYTHING that she enjoys (including her freinds) away from her except for her books.

She will come around and talk to you because she will get tired of reading and stairing at the walls. And when you let her off her grounding if she acts up again............repeat.

Planning to key your car, faking injury and calling the authorities on you. This is WAY more than a troubled child. I would watch your back if I were you. Sounds like she would stop at nothing to take you down.

Videotape her pissy-fits and tell her you're saving the video to show HER kids when they're 13.

...It's the best revenge...

I hope with Jackie once she gets out in the real world in 7 months (Going off to College) she will see that some things I tried to teach her about life and money will start to sink in. Right now she gets a dime she spends it, major shopping freak. I have been making her pay for most of her car repairs and she does have a job now and is paying for most of her stuff.

Stephanie is just know where near the level of starting to understand life as Jackie is. She has talked her mom into letting her drop out of public school and take online schooling. That starts this next semester. I do not know if Stephanie will ever graduate from high school with that happening.

Very frustrating. OUR son, who I actually get to discipline hardly ever gets in trouble and is a straight A student. He does chores and gets paid for doing them. Heck he even was selected to take the ACT college entrance exams and took them last week with Jackie. He acts up from time to time but no where near what Stephanie did at his age or now.

I love my wife and the kids and that is why I stay in our marriage, Stephanie has been trying to get us to get a divorce since she was little. Has had DHR called on me twice. Never time did they find anything. One time the took her to the doctor with brusies on her upper arm and she said I grabbed her. The doctor look at it and said can't you people even see the teeth marks? She had sucked and bitten her own arm trying to cause a problem,

Why am I talking about this here you may say? Well I take allot of you have kids you have raised and may give me some advice or at least someone to discuss it with.
Did you read my post in this thread? its #16. Also allowing her to dropout of public school is a big no,no imo. Do she even have the discipline to get her work done at home if she is having problems behaving at home? I smell disaster. BTW you pretty much identified a key problem in your first paragraph. Also get rid of "Step Dad" mentality, your the Dad...period...

Kind of hard to do when both girls just throw it in my face when I ask them to do something.

I don't have kids, but I did my shit when I was younger. And my mom took me to the state police barracks. Do that to her, see if they'll lock her in a cell for overnight or so. See if that has any affect

the problem is becoming clear and clearer....one huge issue is you and your wife are not equals and the girls know it.....until you and your wife operate as equal parents....no stepdad BS....they will not respect either of you.....

be proactive.....not reactive......

Scott, I agree with this one. This is what I told you before. You may have to sit back and watch the train wreck. If you have no control or cooperation from and over ANY of the 3 girls, then you wash your hands and that's it. Just let them all know it first.

Me, I drug Rebecca into the house by her hair kicking and screaming. Cut the cords to all her stuff and made her read books for 6 weeks. I think I showed you when you were here. She was writing hand written letters to family members after 6 weeks. No e-mail.

She was great during that time. She messed up at school again. Left school grounds to walk home early. She is now grounded till April. It's a work in progress. She's miserable. But I won't back down. All her freinds are gone. We took them away. Phone is gone too.

Difference is Bonnie is behind me. Yes we disagree but NEVER in front of the kids. And we make a decision and that's it.

Without Kathy behind you, it won't work. Sit back and watch the grease fire.
