Im not trying to sway anyone towards the srt8. Yeah I realize im on a camaro site, im just trying to inform some that might be on the fence like I am. I seem to be one of the very few that HAS done research on both. Im not going from, "my memory". Whatever you added to the srt8 to get it to 45k make sure you add it on the ss price also, except for the gps and the upgraded stereo that the camaro doesnt even offer. That pretty much leaves the sunroof and $100 tire upgrade.
Convenience pkg 2 and 6 speed are what I added.

I'll play along, only because this is fun....

OK, so not knowing all the Chally options I added the Option Group II thinking that was what got me the MP3 player stereo comparable to the BA in the Camaro. So I went back to look and $42,940 is correct without that.

Chally with sales tax at 8% for me = $46375.20

2SS/RS Camaro = $38,718.00
(I got this from the Excel calc on this site and to the best of my ability added the options I believe to be correct, RS and stripes, and 8% tax)

Now, I'm tired so I may have missed something but I don't believe so. That's still a huge difference at $7657.20 would you agree?

Yea man dont get me wrong, the camaro IS cheaper. I really like them both its just I can only have one. But im also considering that they are dealing so you wouldnt be paying msrp on the srt8 but you would on the camaro(unless they come up with some discounts or if you qualify for employee pricing) which I doubt. I think if anything dealers are gonna be marking the maros up a couple grand(you know, market adjustment) when they start hitting lots. That is, unless you have ordered at msrp.

Well, my dealer is supposed to call me tomorrow to discuss GMS pricing on a 2010 Camaro. I'm curious to see what they say. I've never done it before, so I don't even know how the program works. He told me that they have to get an invoice for what I wanted and that invoice would have MSRP as well as the discount prices on it and they could tell me what I'm looking at then. Should be interesting.

Earlier today, we told you about Chrysler’s Employee Pricing Plus Plus deal, which kicks off Monday. We didn’t have specific cash-back or reduced-price information then, but Chrysler just delivered us cash-back amounts on each vehicle. Unfortunately, the new, discounted starting prices still weren’t provided. They’ll be available Monday and we’ll list them for you here.

For now, cash-back amounts are a good place to start. We’d expect the employee-pricing discounts to be similar to Chrysler’s sale two summers ago; prices then were around 7.5% to 10% off MSRP. In addition to employee pricing and cash back, 0% financing for 48 months can also be added to these discounts.

For example, assuming a 7.5% discount on a base Chrysler 300 — which stickers at $26,665 — and adding in its $1,000 cash-back incentive reduces its price to $23,665, which could be financed at a 0% interest rate.

Check out all the cash-back offers below.

I'm still sticking with the camaro because mostly my wife and I want a covertible and challanger convertibles have been put on the chopping block. Plus the camaro looks a lot sharper. The challanger looks to bulky. It doesn't seem like it would corner to well?
