This is my first muscle car. I wanted to be able to drive fast so, I'd heard that it was a good idea to go with a dark color because I've heard that they don't draw as much attention as the red, yellow, orange, ect. I was going to go order a black with silver stripes, but when I went in the dealer had an IBM with everything I needed, so rather than wait and go through that painfully exciting time, I figured, "it's still a dark color and it has everything I need, I'll take it."

IBM for me was an easy choice. Blue has always been my favorite color. My first car was a dark green when I bought it and I had it painted blue, but it didn't turn out as dark as I wanted. I knew I would rectify that situation with my camaro. On a side note, I ordered without seeing either of the blues in person, but when I finally saw an ABM in person I was impressed. It still can't top IBM in my opinion, but it definately looks sharp. It's too bad they didn't keep it.

i got IBM looks black from a lot of angles but when your close it is dark blue plus the metal flake pops all over it and it tends to hide a lot (so the upkeep isn't as bad as a black car) let me know if you want some good pics to see what i am talking about...

Wanted Yellow but nobody had any 1SS in yellow as a M6. Didnt want black which a ton of them were around. No to red jewel tint as my wife old monte was that color (another color a ton on the lots). Didnt want silver as the car I traded in was silver (yet again another color flooded on dealer lots here.
IOM was a option but to many of those on the road so the next best was Victory Red plus my 4 year liked it. |

I used to have a black Impala SS, so I knew I wasnt gonna get black...
I liked IOM, but not my style... Wasnt digging IBM, or RJT. Dealer didnt have a RY... I almost changed my mind at the last second to ABM, but the one on the lot wasnt a 2SS. So, I figured silver is easy to keep looking good (It really is), not too flashy for all my daily driving, and there was one available (that I got a good deal on!) I think if there had been a 2ss ABM, I probably would have grabbed it instead. OR White, which I hadnt seen in person. J |

I had a Victory Red ordered and got tired of the waiting at 1100 so I bought off of the lot.. Black is alot of upkeep, but imo, it is the best looking when CLEAN!!

I have owned black cars and never ever ever gonna own a black car again. Even as a garage queen.
Unfortunately, you fell for the black's awesome "showroom" look. The truth is, black cars are a pain in the a$$ to keep looking clean. A black car is awesome in the shade, night, car shows (where you see owners of black cars always wiping), and of couse, dealer show room. If you have other cars and the black car is a garage queen, yeah, it is nice to have. But for a daily driver, the time investment in cleaning it is not worth it. There are better things to enjoy in life than wasting hours and hours cleaning a car. It only looks clean after a wash/detail, until you take it for a drive. And you see every little scratches, swirls, dents, etc. I used to carry a car duster, spray detail kit, etc for the black car. ....not worth the extra hassle. This is just my opinion based on personal experience. My Camaro is IOM and is stays pretty clean between washes. |

Wanted the Silver one, was going to order it , but went to a dealership that had 2 one was black M6 the other RJT automatic. Test drove the black one and took it home. And YES the upkeep sux constantly cleaning it, and like one said in the shade the best looking car on the road. But out in the sun, NOT!!!

I can honestly say that when I started looking, I wasn't expecting to get a purple Camaro.
I didn't even know they made purple ones until I saw mine for sale on auto trader, and when we got down there to look at it, it was even better than we thought. While he was asking $4,000 when we got there, we took it for $3,600 on a bet that ended in our favor.

Rally Yellow was second choice. ABM had been discontinued.

It was a tough decision because the majority of my cars have been black and I own a 69 which is black with white stripes. I didn't like the 2010 in black and white so it was down to red or yellow and I found the red on a lot first.
