You guys are hilarious. We are all on a Camaro forum where everyone here has a 400hp RWD premium gas V8 2 door /2 person car for 30-40k when we could have all bought a honda accord for 18,500 and got 40 MPG and will go 250k\ miles on probably one tune up but were giving financial advice!

I already answered that Q.... A fool is born everyday... If people want to pay over MSRP then it's their money....

At least ask the dealer for a reach around when you leave...

All offense intended You did get butt rammed and did not even get a reach around! I waited a year to order mine so I wouldn't be paying above MSRP, I also had a paid off car to sell or trade in.

When a dealer tells me its marked up I tell him I am going to another dealer. I have bought a lot of cars in my life, My wife seems to think she needs a new car every 2 years... so I can honestly say, MSRP is the most I would ever pay and only for a new car like the Camaro...

I've never seen a same new shelby at MSRP.. Maybe it's just me. Oh and all Ford discounts and rebates are great, but the Shelby is exempt and if I'm not mistaken, so is the Raptor.

There's a difference between making a conscious decision to buy a car that will cost more in the long run and thinking you got a great deal when you actually got raped by the dealer and will get raped in interest.

Really?

http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dea...erPACode=03928

Did internet quote and they just responded (ya a Sunday, I guess their internet guy must work from home) saying MSRP price is correct and it can go out the door for $500 less than MSRP for their internet price....

So if you paid more than MSRP, you got hosed...

My advice to the op.

Take a look at The Mustang Source, it's a great site for enthusiasts of any ilk who own or love Mustangs.

I will have to give you there are probably more gt500's down your way. There are 2 in my city here that i know of. (75,000 or so people)

I wasn't saying an enthusiast couldn't tell the difference, just the general public. Like 9 out of 10 people who aren't enthusiasts wouldn't notice the front fender tag on a z06 over a regular c-6. Much less know what a z06 means.

This is just an example I am trying to use.

I am by no means a ford guy and love my SS but, I would own a gt500. now a regular GT mustang..... NO WAY!

A REAL die-hard Camaro fan would have bought the car if he/she liked it and KEPT the Camaro as well. I'm not dissing anyone for buying a Mustang or other car they like, although I personally wouldn't do it. But I certainly wouldn't try to brag about it like you did something cool. Because in this world, you turned your back on the Camaro world. It's one thing if you didn't have a Camaro and went out and bought it, but to trade in your Camaro that you waited 8 months for? You probably didn't deserve it in the first place.

You can TRY and justify your financially feeble purchase to make yourself feel good if you want, but if you only plan on keeping it a year, you're exactly the type that dealer was looking for. So does it really matter they only made 5500 of them if you aren't keeping it? Story he will tell, yes. But I don't think you're going to want to hear that one as I'm guessing it will be told with much laughter.

To me, you're one of THOSE types of people, the next big thing type. That doesn't impress me one bit. I don't hate you for it, don't get me wrong, but I think we all know the type.

Now that you turned your back on us, please, at least give us the decency and don't annoy us with any troll-like posts about how much cooler a Mustang is over a Camaro.

These are just my opinions. I don't care if you agree or not. But when people do what I consider really dumb things, I can't help myself but to opine.
hey man, that's cool... you dont know much about what the real situation was with the purchase and what not; but i guess it's cool to just assume stuff...

best of luck with that.

yes! thank you!

i knew what i was getting into... if there was a dealer across the street offering me 500 under invoice for the for the same car, i sure would have taken his.

people get touchy feely when it comes to money, even worse if they can't afford the car in question to begin with.

oh well, still love this place anyway!

The GT500 is sold at MSRP at very few dealers around the US. I know of one of them in Florida but that's it. Doing a trade in on a beloved car is a difficult decision to make, however in this case all of you who are saying he lost money because of the markup are not looking at the fact he got top dollar (above top dollar) for his trade in which was not worth what he got based on his description and mileage. The dealer markup may have offset those gains a little however overall he got a good deal on a GT500. Had they offered him what his car was really worth and on top of that a markup, then I would have said he got shafted, however that is not the case.

No worries, you are driving the King of the pony cars, and you will soon see that GT500 performance and handling so far exceed competitors it is not even funny. Congrats and look forward to competition from the Z28 .
