GT500 beats the camaro from the front view, other than that the GT500 looks like an Audi or something

A few comments on the Mustang's look...

WTF is with that hood vent? BARF... Snakes everywhere? YUCK... Mustang stripe kit? UGLY....

And to the comment above, that's the 1st thing I thought, it looks like an Audi...

When I saw you mention So Cal, that explains the mark-up... I could not live out there... I would be spending the money I save in shipping costs to bring things in

Best of luck w/ your GT500; enjoy the heck out of it and see you in line for the Z/28

You don't see gt500's on every street corner either.

You see regular mustangs yes, same as you see regular vettes. 90% of people can't tell a z06 from a base vette. Same as a regular mustang vs a gt500. Same as a lt camaro vs a ss camaro. etc etc etc

OP don't let the folks get you down. It's your money to spend and if you are happy that's all that matters. As far as the price, the bottomline, or the "boot" price is all that matters. They could have given you 50k for your trade and sold you the new one for 100k, it all works out the same as 1k for your trade and 51k for the new one.

It's a bada** car and I hope you like it.

Congrats!!

It might be a Mustang, but it's a musclecar...and a not bad looking one at that. If I had the money, I'd have one in my garage as well. I'd always have a Camaro...and start with getting the upcoming Z28, then the GT500, and then go back in time getting into a fairly nice restored 2nd gen Camaro and would have to counter that with a 93 Cobra. I do like both...but when it comes down to it...getting one...the Camaro wins for me hands down.

Again, congrats and I'm happy you are happy!

But, when the Z28 comes out, I want to see a thread from you quoting THIS post saying you traded in the 500 for the Z!!! GOT IT!?!?!

I don't think you can really compare the Camaro SS to a GT500 Mustang, the SS is competition to the Stang GT not the GT500. Now when the Z28 arrives the GT500 will go into the same place of the GT.... always second. GT500's are nice but I'm not digging tiny stripes at all. Think the 2005-2010 style stripes were much better looking for the design of the car.

i appreciate your enthusiasm to rain on my little parade though.
Just an FYI... the 2010 Camaro SS in "Below avg" condition with 23k miles wholesales at $28,700 according to Manheim. This is the 'stock market' for cars and gives you a daily value on what the dealers use. This is where the REAL wholesale value is determined and what they use to determine the offers they make on trades.

Just curious, did you get $500 cashback as listed on the Ford site for Mustangs? Also, anytime the OEM is offering cashback, that means you can ALWAYS get a deal well below MSRP. On cars.com, there are 2010 GT500s with asking prices around $43k and less than 5k miles.... so the depreciation is a real biznatch on these... another clue that you can get less than MSRP on a new one.

I am not trying to rain on your parade... just hopefully giving some good advice on what data to collect before your next trade

Ultimately, all that matters is that you are happy with your new car. Money comes and goes.... memories are forever (or at least until the Alzheimers sets in.) Enjoy your time with the Cobra

No heart feelings, but to name a Camaro "Scarlet" would better serve the car to another owner in the first place.

Congratulations on the cool new car

I wish I could get a new car every year but the process would be too stressful to me.

you joking? losing 1500 is a gift on a car traded that soon....thats a no brainer to upgrade to a GT500. I like the Camaro over the mustang GT, but the GT500 is a whole different ballgame. Nice car.

Um, I'm calling bullshit on that statement plus a couple of others you made concerning how you played the dealer. Like anyone should believe that.

A REAL die-hard Camaro fan would have bought the car if he/she liked it and KEPT the Camaro as well. I'm not dissing anyone for buying a Mustang or other car they like, although I personally wouldn't do it. But I certainly wouldn't try to brag about it like you did something cool. Because in this world, you turned your back on the Camaro world. It's one thing if you didn't have a Camaro and went out and bought it, but to trade in your Camaro that you waited 8 months for? You probably didn't deserve it in the first place.

You can TRY and justify your financially feeble purchase to make yourself feel good if you want, but if you only plan on keeping it a year, you're exactly the type that dealer was looking for. So does it really matter they only made 5500 of them if you aren't keeping it? Story he will tell, yes. But I don't think you're going to want to hear that one as I'm guessing it will be told with much laughter.

To me, you're one of THOSE types of people, the next big thing type. That doesn't impress me one bit. I don't hate you for it, don't get me wrong, but I think we all know the type.

Now that you turned your back on us, please, at least give us the decency and don't annoy us with any troll-like posts about how much cooler a Mustang is over a Camaro.

These are just my opinions. I don't care if you agree or not. But when people do what I consider really dumb things, I can't help myself but to opine.

And thats IF we see the Camaro Z28...chevy is making a mistake of not announcing this car soon. Why not tell everyone its coming? Give us pricing and give people time to save, trade, sell, whatever they need to so they are prepared for the car.

$3k markup on the Shelby, losing $1.5k on the Camaro (yes, I know it had a lot of miles) <-- Those things are bad. Never pay above MSRP; that's ridiculous. You say you put down $2k cash and that covers the $1.5k you lost on the Camaro so you won't be paying it in Interest, but that's a very self-serving way of thinking. Sorry dude, in actuality, you could've used that $2k to pay off more of your loan and be less in debt. Now you're just more in debt.

That is all just financially speaking. I think you made a very poor financial choice.

However, the GT500 is a gorgeous car and I'd love to have one one day. Wouldn't give up my Camaro for it, but it's still a great car. Hope you enjoy it.
