that's a nice SS, CGM, silver, or black stripes personally 4 me..
and it still turns more heads than the GT500.
you'll be on your hands & knees crawling back for a Z28, you'll see...

They didn't give you $33,100 for your car. They used some of the $3k markup that you paid to over allow for your Camaro. The sales manager didn't want to have a story to tell either. He just said that to get you to buy.

Paying a markup on any car, especially a GT500 that offers slightly better performance than a 2010 that you could have saved THOUSANDS on, is absolutely retarded.

So, you lost $1500 in negative equity that got added back onto the GT500 note and you paid $3000 over sticker. That's an extra $4500 added on to your car note.

Did they give you a bottle of this to help with the screwing they gave you?

jesus man, i'm not dumb... i know that the 33,100 was against the 3k i paid on the top of the sticker.

i knew going into it that if i wanted that car this summer, i'd pay a mark up.

i didn't want a 2010, i wanted the new 2011; and was willing to pay a extra for it.

dont make it out to some crazy screw over, i could have taken my 2k down payment; put 1500 of it on the camaro and used the other 500 on the down payment. would have ended up 0 tacked on due to the camaro and knocked in 500 against their markup.

the big difference is that my 2010 was not worth anywhere near 33,100 (or even 28,100 if you want to view it that way) with 23k miles; especially considering the damage the car had when i left her.

i appreciate your enthusiasm to rain on my little parade though.

Congrats. If that's going to the darkside, I need to quite living in the light!

I'm in the market for a new car right now, but there's no way I could afford a GT500. Same goes for the Z28 when it finally gets into production.

Having owned a Camaro SS and now a GT500, aside from the things you have listed, can you provide us with comparsion regarding the ride/handling/performance?

Dude, it is your money. Do not let it get you down. Go out and look at the car and enjoy your purchase, it is stunning.

nice ride. If I had the $$$ right now, I would be doing the same thing and I love my Camaro. I just think those GT 500's are bad. Don't let some of the posts get you down. Enjoy it. It's you money.

Not a bad deal, basically it cost a little more than $2700.00 to drive a Camaro for 22,000 miles, or a little over 12 cents a mile.
Especially since it's a company car, you made a good decision to get out while the mileage was still reasonable. The GT500 is an awesome car, and if I had room in the garage it would be in there with my Camaro and Challenger.
Enjoy the new toy!

I was not a big Camaro guy before I bought this one... It's actually my 1st Chevy...

For the longest time I was a Jeep nut.. Had like 5 in a row... Then I have always been kind of a Dodge guy.... I had a Shelby Daytona and a Shelby Lancer back in the 80's... I know they were not real Shelby's but you get my point..

When I purchased the Camaro I was not instantly drawn to it... I test drove a Mustang, a Camaro and a Challenger....

I was torn between the Camaro and the Challenger... Never liked the look of the Mustang....

For now, I am thrilled with my Camaro.. Love it, glad I chose it over the other 2.... Not looking back and looking forward I think Chevy has transformed me from a Dodge / Jeep guy to a GM guy...

If I had the cash would I trade my Camaro for a Vett? You betcha.... Would I trade it for a Mustang? NO WAY....

i actually thought about looking at vettes, but i'm not in the market for that sort of car just yet... i want back seats as small as they are and a decent sized trunk. the vette also doesn't fit me so well (240lbs, 6' 3", with a near 48" chest).

Well congrats on the new purchase.
No offense intended but I cannot stand Fords, I did check out the Mustang but not my cup of tee, I would rather spend that kind of money on the Challenger SRT8.
That aside..........Man! that is one ugly car! Slapping a snake emblem on the side don't help it none either! And what the hell is that hole in the hood for?
I STILL cannot figure out why someone would change over to the monstrosity of a car after owning a Camaro with the "badass" looks.
Either way to each his own, its your money.......you're the one that has to live with that thing.

A completely different "trip to the dark side" story ...

Everything balances out C5 guys.

Back in the day I bought and raced nothing but new Stangs. GT's, LX 5.0's, even a Cobra. Everyone knew me as "The Mustang Guy".

And then 2 months ago, I saw this at a dealer ...

The styling blew me away. I didn't want a Summer only SS car, but I couldn't deal with a low hp v6 either.

What? The v6 has over 300hp?

So I brought her home ...

Since then I've become proficient at driving one-handed because of all the return waves I give to the "Nice car!" comments.

And finally, yesterday I purchased this cap ...

My trip to the dark side is complete.

there's a reason why those are going for so cheap there; here in southern california... you'll be hard pressed into getting one without some markup.

you remember the options on that 2011 for 47k?
Didn't have the performance pack, had EP w/ dual climate, really basic 'cause everything else is standard.

They are sweet cars, easy to mod... now w/ the Ford GT aluminum motor, the '11 lightens the nose for better balance. Can't remember if the performance pack comes with Goodyear F1s or not, but if so... I'd change to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s
