Yep, I completely agree. This should be standard with all CEOs (minus those who are starting a company). Its great motivation, its as simple as the better your company does the more money you make. There's no better motivation than that, plus the added benefit that your employees are happy with the company doing well.

... Unfortunately things arn't that simple. GM has contracts to forfill (the Union) and that hinders progress imensely.

Yes. I call it a 'Volt-Cruzer'. It is the next step after the 'MaliVolts' from early in the development.

Cruze body, Volt drivetrain. The Cruze and the Volt share some common elements between their respective platforms.

Perhaps this is a statement about the flexibility of the Volt drivetrain. You can put a Volt body on it, a Malibu body on it, a Camaro body on it, etc, etc... Hmmm, verdy interesting.

The Volt was draws on elements of GM's HyWire concept from 10 years ago or so. It featured a 'skateboard' that contained a hydrogen fuel cell, fuel tank, electric motors, batteries, most of the suspension, steering, etc. Basically, all the mechanics of the car. Then bolt different bodies onto it. Some of this idea has made it into the eflex platform which the Volt is built off of. Its not as versitile as '1 size fits all' but its a step in that direction.

A couple of pictures to refresh memories. The one isn't very good.

I have to say that the Volt looks a lot better.
