Dude, you must be running at Thunder Valley and we both know nobody runs good at that track brother. It is not real world there it is Purgatory. I can say for sure that my 4th gen was every bit as fast as my new fith gen dont ask me why or how it just is and I have yet to run my 5th gen.

Ok, WTF! that is just crazy for those mods. The only way I can see that trap speed is if they pulled everything and I mean everything out of the car and the tune was for balls out race gas. You guys do realize the 3200lb ZO6 with 500hp runs this trap speed and time with a drag radial. So to me they had to pull 300lbs from the car and gain 88hp? I am not saying it didnt happen or flying the bs flag but come on this is getting insane. I just cant see it from pump gas and full weight. Very, very impressive anyhow. I guess Ford finally got tired of being beat for the past 43yrs. Good job this year Ford, my hats off to you.

not sure about race gas but they did a bit of weight reduction yes. and past 43 yrs? including 2003-2009?

yes. there are no aftermarket cams (for this particular 4V), stock intake manifold and there are no aftermarket 4V heads regardless of year. stock longblock.

All I do know is that Ford designed the overall engine with a supercharger in mind. People are probably going to have to replace rods and pistons when steping up to FI with these cars but if this car can do 10's with bolt ons its just scary to think of a new bottom end build or shortblock with a good power adder. And in all truth I would love to take some seats and things out of my car, put on some different wheels and tires, drive to the track, fill the tank with race gas, load a new tune and bust out some 10's. I mean almost anyone would be capable of 10's with a brand new GT with less invested than what I probably already have. I now know what all the Mustang owners felt back when I had my 4th gen.

LOL calm down it aint THAT bad. Im a fan of the new Mustang but i think evolution performance muddied the water by doing weight reduction, at least for our measuring purposes. I would have liked to see what they can do with a mostly stock weighted car (one that most of us would race against), we dont even know how much weight they got rid of which turns everything into some kind of mystery. Good if youre a racer but bad for people trying to gauge this car/engines capability.
