from what i've seen, the average time for the 5.0 (including pro tests and noobs posting online) seems to be 12.8.
for the Camaro, it seems to be 12.9. trap speeds (excluding that freakish 116 thats highly debateable mustang: 111Camaro: 110.5

I honestly have not seen a regular person post their times yet for the 5.0. Every time I've seen has been from a performance shop.

I am sure there are SS traps that correct higher than a SS has ever trapped, so I'd prefer to use numbers that have actually been accomplished versus corrected traps. I REALLY, REALLY doubt it, but maybe I'm wrong. That Vendicated guy says he is taking his car to a different track this week so we'll see. |

I'm just saying we are taking from a very small sample here and nothing is impossible. We have only seen like 4 production GT's (3?) run the actual 1/4. Powerhouse trapped just under 113 with a DA around 1,000 ft. I'm not at all saying that proves that 116 is legit or even 115, but it does leave room for improvement and I highly doubt we have seen the best possible traps or ET's from the 5.0 yet.

I never said the rods were the same only that I thought that they were just as weak by what I read. I am going off of my 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine March 2010 issue. I will throw in some word for word quotes to help you out. "Like current Mustang GT rods, Coyote connecting rods are forged from powdered metal. Optimized for reduced weight and redesigned for uniform bearings loads around the big end, the Coyote rod eliminates the 4.6 rod's balance pad. These rods are plenty strong for stock rpm and power but will not survive forced induction". End quote. here is another one. "Too bad the connecting rod isn't as over-built," (as in the rest of the motor is very stout) Here is another one to pay close attention to. "The Coyote team says the forged powdered-metal connecting rod is the least robust link in the 5.0 chain. Engineers noted it is absolutely strong enough for its naturally aspirated application in the Mustang, but just absolutely strong enough. Most ominously, supercharging will require a stronger forged rod, so we expect to see those, and , no doubt, a short block in the FRPP catalog before long." In no doubt the rods are improved upon but from an in depth look at the motor from these guys says that they will not hold up to much past stock #'s for long. Is it possible? sure. Will it happen? most certainly. However for all those making FI power on the stock shortblock there will be countless others that break. There are in fact 800rwhp stock shortblock LS motors but your talking about 1 out of like 10,000. Same will go and does go for the modular.
