I'm not really sure how I'd feel about owning an Orphan vehicle.

In times like this the people of the country are only buying things they need from places like Walmart and the Camaro isnt something anyone needs.

Mark my words, GM is WAY to late to the game with this car, it has already failed. I'll be surprised if they start producing them in 09 at all.
That prophet stuff will ruin your reputation if you're wrong. Where are you getting your info? Your words are marked.

Yes.
Unfortunately...gauging the response...it would become a company of the enthusiasts and the loyal, not fit to be #1 ever again.:(

But yes, I would buy from them.

I'd wait the company to be on its feet again, i.e. being bought by Tata or any other Chinese/indian brand

Porbably not. I don't know a lot about cars so I'd like a valid warranty, certified dealers, parts etc.

You would have all of that. Chapter 11 is more or less a pause-button, where the gov't protects you assuming you can shape up and restart your business.

I think I would rather take the chance at buying from bankrupt GM than buying from Tata.

If there is any first time buyers out there ie teenagers and twenty somethings, i would hold out for the next year or two and see what happens with the govt bailout.

I would still buy from them. And not just a Camaro I would buy other vehicles too if I was in the market. Like Dragoneye said chpt 11 is like a pause button more or less. And if you are worried about parts there will always be parts, maybe not dealer parts but there will be OEM equivilant parts, just go to carquest orielys et al. Or learn the good old fashioned art of actually fixing things, so your alternator goes out take it apart and fix it don't just replace it.
