I think made 1 at the most 2 runs on the car stock. Bad track prep and wheel hop surely didn't help the times. Still not bad for a brand new car with 70 miles on it. Same car made 368rwhp on a Mustang Dyno.

I do wish they would have made a few more runs and trips to the track in stock form to see what it would do.

When asked about the tuning they said they were doing and suspension changes they answered:

Quote:
Not many changes tuning wise, still testing! Only suspension changes done is our ultimate suspension kit - upper and lower control arms, panhard bar and torque box braces! No more wheel hop!

Note the 2011 because all of you Chevy boys who were crying "Wait until the 2011 comes out, its not fair". Well now the only things Chevy has added are an HUD setup (cool?) and Synergy Green (<-WTF?).

Besides these neat-o features that all you were pining about they have added NOTHING IN THE WAY OF INCREASING PERFORMANCE.

That being said, the base 2011 GT may be a bit slower without the tires and gears, however let us not forget that the bast GT is still CHEAPER than a Camaro 1SS. Therefore, the GT with the added 3.73 gears option is about the same price.

On top of that, if you do Opt for the $2K Brembo and performance tire and wheel option, the performance numbers look more like those from Germany, and by that I mean the M3. The 2011 GT pulls a 0.97g on the skidpad, and does 60-0 braking in just 104 feet. Those numbers are actually spot on with an M3.

Wait did anyone see the 2010 Camaro putting up those kinds of braking and handling numbers? NO, NO THEY DIDN'T.

Fact of the matter is that Ford flat out built a better car.

1) The V6 has a world class motor in it, the 3.7L Duratec.
2) The engineers at Ford have made a tremendous motor in the 5.0L. It has incredible volumetric efficiency, and has the highest HP per liter of any of its competitors.
3) The Mustang easily has the nicest interior of any of its competitors.
4) The options list is incredible. You can design any style that fits your budget or taste.

5) The dynamics of the car as a whole are amazing. You get a vehicle that has excellent quality fit and finish, a high level of engineering, and performance to boot. It handles well, it's comfortable, it's fast, and looks good. The 2011 Mustang really is a great package from the V6 to the GT.

You all may love your Camaro, but styling aside, if each and every one of you went out and test drove a 2011 GT or even a V6, you would all be taken by surprise at how nice of an automobile it really is.

SO to conclude, the Camaro may be faster by a few tenths in econo-trim, but as an overall vehicle, the 2011 Mustang is a better car. Its not ONLY performance, or ONLY styling, or ONLY build quality. Its all these things put together in a well packaged automobile that make the Mustang the better car.

If you want a slightly-faster-in-a-straight-line-when-you-compare-base-to-base-trim-levels car, buy the Camaro.

If you want the better of the two cars buy the Mustang.
Maybe you should try capitalizing certain words you want to emphasize. We may be convinced you are right...oh wai...nevermind.

So if you're so dedicated to the mustang, why are you on this formum trying to
convince us that the mustang is better? We (I) don't care what you think or what the magazines say. I bought the camaro because that's what I wanted. In my opinion, it looks much better than the competition and performs very well. I don't go on the challenger forums and try to convince them they have an Inferior car. Stick to
the mustang forums where you can spend your time and energy with like minded people.

Nice, such little changes, that wheel hop must have been a killer lol.
12.49 with some suspension stuff. not too bad. if the camaro can touch 12.6 stock this should be a good matchup

Give me a break. Camaro outsold Mustang every month since it came out. Deal with it. I doubt these new (outstanding) Mustang motors will do little to sway the consumers.
How many of those were Chevy fanboys like yourself coming back to restore their mullet again? Thats what I thought.

The Mustang will destroy the Camaro in sales as it has since 1964.5.

BTW 9 Million Mustangs. Enjoy your mullet.

And i would just like to add that IMO when buying a muscle car, the first thing i would look for is acceleration. IMO this is what muscle cars are all about.

And i actually agree that the interior materials in the mustang are superior to the Camaro's (which will be fixed for '12 MY), but i prefer the Camaro's interior design.

And i think the Camaro posted some very respectable handling results in the Car&Driver comparo. I dont remember them right now, but i think they are better or right up there with the mustang handling.
