I can admit that Mustangs have a broad appeal (pun intended, ZING!) and they sell well but this is a discussion about the performance merits of the vehicles in question. And..... You're seriously using numbers from a vehicle that hasn't missed a model year since 64? Of COURSE it sold more. Good job, you must work at the accounting department inside your short bus. As stated before, this is a CAMARO forum. If you can't bring relevant data like Evil Twin, than you need to keep your mouth shut. Insults are a ton of fun when your sitting on your couch but you haven't brought one worthwhile argument to the table so I'll have to ask you to take your seat at the kiddie table until you can act like an adult. K? Bye

Some mustang faithfulls think they can pull a 1.7 60ft with this new mustang on bone stock suspension and street tires. Also that a 12.5 is "conservative" for this car. Not saying its right or wrong...just passing along exact words I have come across on the WWW.

Vtec is NOT the same as variable valve timing......
Honda's Vtec is actually TWO different cam profiles ground into one shaft. The engine selects between the two given different demands for efficiency/performance. That's why some of the goofballs out there feel it "kick in". ![]() VVT is only the advancement or retarding of valve timing.... |

I don't think you will see a stock GT run a 1.7 60ft time on the street tires.

i have plans to meet a camaro club at bowling green the 22nd of may. me and my family are making it a weekend there. we'll see what a 2010 SS vs. 2011 gt will do one on one. im sure if i lose the majority of the races i'll mod till i get out front, and likewise the camaro guys will do the same. mine wont be stock sadly.
i dont care what magazine ran faster. ill mod mine till im satisfied. then ill try to tree the other guy. ive said this before. the camaro guys are saying the car and driver proves the stang is slower. (me too initially) stang boys are saying the motortrend proves the stang is faster. those are stock cars. get over the stock for stock debate plz. mine will be stock for a few days tops. are there any stock SS cars in here? not too many. i plan to run 11's very soon after i get the car. drag radials, bolt ons, weight reduction, and 11's. evolution's car is .5 away. 12.49. if i had a camaro i'd be doing the same. 11's asap.

Maybe with evan smith behind the wheel, but that's about it. Otherwise I wouldn't expect any better than a 1.8 or 1.9. Still, that's a big difference from a 2.1. I wonder how evo is attacking the TIVCT. Should be interesting to see how much better numbers they get as they learn how to tune the 5.0.
