Of course they will be getting rid of the LSx engines. That's what the latest announcement about the engine plants are all about. What happened to the L98 (GENI) when the LT1 came out? Gone. What happened to the LT1 (GENII) when the LS1 came out? Gone. What happened to the LS1 (GENIII) when the LS3 (GENIV) came out? Gone. Guess what's going next?

The LS model car has the same engine as the LT models right? All the V-6s are the same engine correct?

Correct but we are taking about V8 engine RPO codes, not camaro models.

The LS, and LT share the same motor we already know GM is almost done with the Turbo charged V6 that I am sure we will see in future V6 Camaros and other GM cars it's just a matter of time.

GM will never drop the LS cars and trucks you need to have an entry level vehicle not everyone can afford a fully loaded or mid level car or truck.

They are probably going to build an overhead cam V8 with the same type of design as the 3.6 liter V6. That would be great. Maybe a 5.7 liter DOHC Direct Injected V8 that revs to 7500 rpm's and put out 450hp while getting 18mpg in the city and 30mpg on the highway. The Green way.

I heard they are experimenting with cam-in-cam technology. Not saying that the GENV V8 will include that but it's nice to see the amount of R&D that is going into propulsion these days at GM.

Again, they are talking about ENGINES, not cars.

Whether or not they'll still be LS-designated is up in the air. All that's been confirmed is that the Gen V V8s are coming and there will be DOHC and OHV engines.

Which is a GOOD thing. Shows that GM is not sitting on its laurels.
