looks like GM is getting rid of the LS series

i was reading and came across this and it looks like GM is getting away from the LS series

no one invest that much money just to redo a engine highly likely that they are going to make a whole new engine to satisfy the government...thats just what i believe is gonna happen and we will know for sure here in the near future. Do you actually think GM is gonna invest all that money into the LS series I think not. I could see it if there were major problems with any of the LS series but the LS motors are dang good motors

The LTs use the same engine. Are those going bye-bye, too? So the Camaro is only an 8-cylinder car? Unlikely.

Orrrr...are you talking about the LS3 engine?

You probably are, my mistake, lol.

dont get me wrong i really hope that they dont get rid of it, but who knows what gonna happen. I think to meet all these dumb government requirements anything is possible

I think he means the LS base V8s. Eg:LS1, LS3, LS7, LS9, etc. Any engine that uses the LS series V8 architecture.

LS doesn't mean anything it's just a engine RPO designation. For instance GM has used LS6 and LT1 twice in their history. The generation of the small block has all the meaning. LS1 was Gen III, LS2-LS3 Gen IV and Gen V will be out in 2012.
