Interesting. The last time I saw the Camaro in C&D, it was rated a little over 200. What changed?

As for the track numbers....
Let the postings begin.

Also did they test these cars on the same day at the same time.

Those are the exact same numbers they got from their Road test of the new GT.

I don't think 412 is far less than 426 but that could just be me.

on the contrary the live axle is more beneficial for drag racing.

Nice thing about turbos and electronic boost controllers...you can set the boost where you want it at the touch of a button..anything over about 680-700 RWHP is a waste on the street IMO so I ran about 11-15psi (~600-700 RWHP) most of the time on the street...890 was fun for the occasional scaring the crap out of someone but 600-700 was actually more fun to drive.

Oh and running 11.9s and faster on street tires is no small feat and power is only one part of the equation...

As for Kenne Bell and 1000 HP...I haven't looked at the site in a while..but usually those numbers they put up are based on how much power the blower can support based on how much air it can flow...Mustang or Camaro if you want that kind of power reliably it is going to take alot more than just strapping on a blower and turning up the boost...alot more.
I've owned Kenn Belles and Whipples..in the past the main deciding factor between one or the other(as long as the size was the same) was really which look you preferred.
Very good post. Thank you for the response.

I can't even imagine the kind of power you've driven on a daily basis. But that's impressive.

Are you sure? I cannot imagine Ford would let the magazines test a car that would post a lower time. Any sources?

I haven't seen the article in question. The numbers match up with the Car and Driver road test of the GT. They didn't exactly break down what options they had on the GT they got to test though.

funny it is. funny.

cling to it c5 owners. it will help you sleep till you meet one at the track.

13.2 @ 109. sounds like exacly what it is. the stang is far slower than a SS. even slower than a challenger probably. 235/50-18 tires are a joke. the stang is the slowest car out there really. its all been a bad dream.

Ok then I could be wrong. The numbers are the same as their test of the 2011 GT here: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test

They never said what gear the car had or options the car had though.
