Yep, and in the meantime, everyone can continue to bench race since that seems to be the only kind of racing many people in this thread do. No offense intended to those in the thread who do put their cars through their paces from time to time.

My lowly stock 2000 GT has no place in the performance argument.

Can't wait for an 2011 Mustang, v6 in my case, to show up, lol! Going to be fun, win or lose.

SLP is not owned by GM nor are their cars sold as GM vehicles with GMs warranty.
Guess that warrenty I got with my 01 SS was just a piece of paper then huh?

Doesn't GM make 3.73s that can be put on the 5th Gen SS Camaros?

wow I hate to even comment on this ignorance.

Yes your SS will have a factory warranty because GM contracted SLP to do the WS6s and SSs.

But the argument was not about 4th gens it was about the ZL575 SLP Camaro SS which is NOT covered by GM.

Hopefully that clears this up.

In think you may be missing the point here. Whether or not real world gas mileage is the same the epa rating wont change as they wont retest the car for the 3.73:1 gears...all manual transmission GT's will receive the same epa rating regardless of gearing. Given that, the only two numbers MT can provide are the epa rating and their actual observed mileage.

No, it doesn't have two, it's effectively infinitely variable meaning it adapts to whatever is in the tank within reason. So yes, it bumps down the power with regular unleaded in the tank and it will hurt the Mustang at least as much as the Camaro.

Food for thought, if they really did run the Ford and Chevy on regular unleaded imagine what would happen when they put premium in it.

GM doesn't own SLP, Ford does own SVT and SVT serves as in an house tuner building brand new, smogged and safety tested, honest to goodness Ford branded production vehicles. GM had their own in house tuner recently, and it wasn't SLP, but they killed it.

It is kind of shitty to not cover the new zl packages or what ever they are. What kind of warranty do they get? Bumper to bumper with no powertrain? Limited powertrain? Anything?

If you are talking about the new SLP ZL cars they get their warranty from SLP. Which I know on the 575 is 3 years/36,000 miles.

Where would you get the car serviced though?
