Look I am not starting a war or anything, and I am not a die hard chevy fan, I just give credit where it is due... Chevy really nailed this car, and has forced Ford to compete with this car. I love the Coyote engine sound and will give Ford engineers credit for developing that engine... but at the same time you have to give GM credit where it is due, and you might disagree with the performance, but this car is the first of car in this price range to actually look like a concept car... and the design deserves all the awards it can get!

Most G8 GT drivers have no problem stock vs stock - beating a 05-09 Mustang (not sure about the '10, but the increase wasn't very significant)


Not to mention I was talking about the 3 Muscle Cars-- Challenger/ Mustang/ Camaro.

But yeah, the fact that the Mustang was a reasonable kill for the G8 GT is just another slap in it's face..

again.... Finally Mustangs are not the oddly slow one of the bunch.




Take it for what its worth (this is the internet)-- but my first race ever in this car was against an LS1- Trans Am-- I won by about 1 car lengh. from a roll 50-100 ish. -- I know this is the internet, and I am sure you don't believe me.. that is okay by me.. I am at peace with the truth.

PPS-- I owned a LS1 equipped WS6 (2002)--- It was a great car ( I think my car is faster-- (with my mods)

fastest stock time for G8 GT is 13.3x.
Average 13.5 -13.7

Some are higher, but then again, some have hit 12s with Tune and CAI....

I haven't hit the track yet, I would love to see 12s. but I will be happy with 13.2 or better.

Yeah- that V6 sounds amazing-- (in comparison to the old V6s) I am anxious to actually get some real world drivers @ track's run them, as well as the GT.

IMO-- this is all speculation until real every day drivers start taking these things to the tracks. So we can see what they really do (better or worse)

Usually people beat mags so that is looking great for the Mustang.

Having test driven both cars, the 2010 GT feels MUCH faster.

But is there really a better value of car/dollar than the V6 Mustang? If there is, I don't see it.

The 2011 models tested were the 5.0-liter Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Camaro SS, and the Dodge Challenger SRT-8.
